Does it really work that way, the way you have mentioned ? I think getting moved by **sob** stories are more to do with one's own perception of life ... with every sob story narrated by a participant or aired by the news channel the viewing public feels it as if it was happening to them since everyone has a sad story to tell .... it's like "my life is miserable and I cannot voice all my grievances ... here's this poor guy so similar to me ... let me help him out atleast ...."

These days, every story whether it be on serials or in the news is greased with glycerine so as to compel viewers to empathize. Why do you think that the cover story of prince (the kid who fell into an unattended well) was aired live on nine news channel for over 2 days with around 27 lakhs of sms pouring in with good wishes ? Life is funny ... especially so in India where people often tend to live other's lives than their own .....

😉 😉

His inner goodness coupled with his great singing has won the hearts of people!! His songs like Allah De Banthay and the 1 from Omkara brought me to tears!! He has this ability to touch hearts...and his genuine goodness shows on his face!!!! I hope he wins in the end!!!!!!!!

I agree with you, Raja has the best smile ever, its something in him that makes you just want to see and listen to him, After Amanat Ali my vote goes to him,

Aneek is also good, but i don't think its fair that he just hoped on the train after it started.

It's not about making up a *sob* story ... it's about having one or not ... didn't poonam get our sympathy when she narrated her roots ....

I'm not talking of the musical capabilities here and neither do I deny that Raja is a good singer, I'm just analyzing why is he getting the maximum amount of votes ... and I'll put it down to the two reasons I pointed out earlier only (sympathy from the public / empathy with the *sob* stories)

If you have a better reason, you can say provide it as well ... I don't think votes are directly proportional to the singing abilities ... even you will agree to the fact else Mauli wouldn't have been around ....

skud, you didnt get my point or perhaps i wasnt too elaborative. i agree to whatever you say , i myself is one of those emotional fools but the point is for how long and for how many can you feel? say, like for first time i did feel for poonam ...then comes raja with bunch of stories... and honestly i didnt feel for him....except that he's better then others and he should stay...
the reason behind is, mighty possible that i am getting immune to these stories, what with so many contests going on and every 3rd or 4th person has something terrible going with his life?
plus in your life, you or your near and dear one's may be having countless problems...so its like kis kis ke baare kitna sochenge?
ok dunno,am i still making sense? 😆 just too sleepy.
short cut mein..i think , sob stories may not be the sole reason of he being the fav. among the masses...as per your indication ..there are other factors too. 😊

Ritz, It's not that I didn't understand whatever you were trying to convey ... it's just that the number of people who get moved with emotion outweighs the number of people who become immune to these sob stories ... especially in India where the underdog is often supported tremedously (since it reflects the masses in more than one ways) ....

Like I said earlier there are more factors to it but it's definately not the singing aspect in it's entirety ...

It's late at your end so a sane thing to do would be to hop onto your bed ....

😉 😉 😉

raja has a voice that touches you-his songs connect with the audience. he has enough talent to move me to tears- allah ke bande was superb . amanat has taht talent too- I'm a great fan of his but somewhere thar connection goes missing.aneek is too much vineet talented but mechanical. singing is all about that x factor _ Raja seems to have it aplenty. both amanat and Raja rock. anyway I'm neither a marwari nor a muslim nor pakistani. a good singer is such a pleasure to hear.

Raja is a very natural singer. He makes the song look so easy, sings effortlessly and beautifully in both higher and lower notes.Voice quality is superb. He seems to be in the song and enjoying it himself and singing it with lot of feel.He has a maturity to his persona, an humbleness, comes across as if he was just made to be a singer. Common man can relate with him.He is a bundle of natural talent and good personality.

Abhi - what made you jump the gun on me 😆 As Rita pointed out, I said that Raja is not the most hyped on the show (Thanks Rita 😳 ).. We all know, Mauli and Aneek are (for the wrong and right reasons respectively 😉 )....

I would also like to clarify here is that Raja is one of the 3 only finalists whom I like on the show (along with Amaanat and Aneek)... so ofcourse this was not a thread to bash him... Someone even said that maybe the votes should have gone to Mauli 😕 And I would be the last person to even think of that 😉

I personally think, what works to Raja's favor is this.. Yes, he has a different kind of voice... and sings some genre of songs very well... He does slip on sur in some other genre of songs though... I think, he connects with the junta very well... That could be his style, his stage presense, his coming across as a genuine person(for some reason), and his background too...

As Skud says, he has also captured that maximum number of sympathy and empathy votes on the contest.. I find some similarity with his appearance and behavior with Rajeev.. though I think Raja is a much better singer than Rajeev (Rajeev's voice quality was better)...

I think Raja already has the potential to be on the top 3 of this contest, and does not need any new sob story or any other story to go forward... I would actually appreciate VS that they have not campaigned anything in that angle for Raja so far... Lets see how it goes on from here

One thing I can say Rajeev was the best singer in untrained singer category.... Yes there is only similarity between them is both forget the song...

Mujhe ghuma phira ke baat karne ki aadat nahi.. so what ever I say, say it straight and simple😛....

Remember I said voice quality... and voice quality does not say who sings better, has sur and taal etc... Rajeev's asset was his voice quality.. that he did not sing in sur most of the times is a different thing all together... But, his voice was very good...

Raja sings lot better than Rajeev no doubt, but there is some definite similarity between the 2.. probably the humbleness, the personality that comes across as very genuine... and yes, their long curly locks😆 and as you said, their forgetting lyrics nature😆

And btw - good to see the use of 'singer' in your posts these days😉
