Are reality shows destroying talent

While reality shows provide a good platform to showcase talent, I have a feeling that the long term outcome may be harmful.

With channel wars, daily performances (such as II3 piano rounds), dramabaazi, stringent contracts, burn out is inevitable.

I first noticed it when Sameer reported doing 1-2 shows/day in addition to TA post LC.

There was another girl in II3, Richa Aneja, a fantastic classically trained singer who blew me away in the auditions. Her piano round singing did not meet expectations

Mauli may end up another victim. After Maiya maiya it has been downhill.

I won't say talent is getting destroyed but yes I doubt if these reality shows are actually finding talents. They are here to do business and finally to do that resorting to every possible means to earn the extra bucks.

This is finally leading to the real talented one in the lot loosing out while some other maybe on the basis of one sided regional vote or sympathy factor gets the winners position.

On the contrary, they are showing the real show biz and its just like another business full of politics, insecurity and disrespect for each other and reveals the true face of so called genius, that we always think ad genuine and humble. Realty shows something else.

For talent, they need oppurtunity door more then the reality show. Real talent has been ignored in Bollywood in the past too.
