In short, your sum up of the whole show.

I was very disappointed in yesterday's show but felt the singers performed better today. As ID said there was quite a bit of improvement and the show has a long way to go yet.

I was disappointed with the mentors in that they were being overly critical of the contestents. HR in face put down his two contestents yesterday before they even had a chance to sing. I feel they were showing off a bit int he presence of the judges. I found Gulam Ali very knowledgable and a good advisor. Ashaji took the cake really for she was being encouraging while pointing out the negative points in the contestents.

Amongst today's contestants I liked Apurva, Sunil and Shrestha. Magna too has improved since yesterday. I find Apurva refreshing and at least he is trying to perform also. He has his own style too. Sunil emerged as a good singer today too......... why is he and Amanat so serious!!😕 I hope they learn to relax a little and give that tempo that the audience need for voting points.

Hit gharana had Magna and Apurva today........ with songs Dolna and Tuhi Mere. Apparently Magna had a sore throat but she still sang better than yesterday. The shirt she wore seemed to suit her unlike the dress she wore in the 1st episode. I really like Apurva's style👏

HR had today Yogendra and Shreshta. Kudos for Yogi's courage relly😆 He stole hearts and I wont be surprised if he is chose to return. It was nice of Bapida to say that he will support him if Yogendra goes to him. His elimination was a little emotional even for me..... good luck to him in future.

Shreshta..... loved her rendition of Tere Liya. She was not perfect but a lot better than yesterday. As Ashaji put it, she needs a little more throw to her voice.

Bapida's Josh Gharana: Sunil with Dil De Diya Hai....... I was taken aback how well he sang. Ashaji said it was the first song she had heard where "Kahi sur nahi hile"..... that surely was the best compliment of the day👏

Koyal: OMG I am sorry but everything Ashaji said about this song is true. This song was very inappropriately chosen by some music director. Her outfit was gaudy....... it didnot suit her at all. She was covering the top and her face with her hands and the mike. I have read in some other threads that Rock Me Baby was sung by Himani and Ujjani. I donot remember Ujjani singing it but surely remember Himani. Koyal comes no where near Himani, sorry to say. Besides Himani was much into the contest and her rendition was good. HR said she sang a bold song and ID said her outfit was as bold as her song. I donot think it was that much bold but it was gaudy and not suitable to her physique.

ID Gharana: I only remember Amanat. That kid sure has a lot of potential no doubt. But he also needs to relax a little and perform.......... I feel that is what the masses will be looking at when voting begins.

I would have loved for Ashaji and Gulam Ali to return next week when the other contestants will be performing.

Adimoshai, you started this thread....... you have to give your input too!!😆 But I guess I know who you are waiting for to perform again eh!😉 😆

Yes! 😛 I've been watching SRGMP since it was Sa Re Ga Ma and I was knee-high 😆 Albeit not regularly. SRGMP with Shaan had become a family evening show to watch with dinner. I enjoyed the kids specials and am still rather fond of Sanchali who I thought got a raw deal over and over again.

Coming back to would I have watched had your list not been included as participants. Again, yes I would. What caught my attention first wasn't the participant pool but the concept and format of the show. It was different. I slowly got to hear the contestants and develop preferences. And of course, Hema would still have been in it..which was about the only reason I watched the last few weeks anyway 😳

Millions of people hope to get on this show. For all we know, a better singer was overlooked b/c ID had pre-determined confidence in someone who had already done well in one version of the show. Ah politics! 😉

My review of this week's show:

Beginning with the group performance - the first day's group performance was outstanding with a great composition.. If the contestants can sing this composition this way, then they are capable of singing all type of songs, Dunno whats wrong with them when they start singing individually.. The second day's group performance, what can i say - For a moment i thought of changing the channel.. When singing in a group, there should be co-ordination - which totally lacked in second day's.. These maynot be taken into account, but these are certain minute things that needs attention..

The Host - Aditya - Maybe cute, cheerful, charming - But needs to improve his voice throw to attract the crowd.. The same old line - Inevitable ID, Happening Himeshji can always be changed.. Script writers Thoda alag socha kijiye...

The Mentors - Himeshji trying to impress Ashadi will not work in front of the crowd.. Himeshji, C2005 ka lesson abhi tak nahin mila kyaa aapko?? Itne hype karne se, kam hi votes milenge.. By showing that ur discouraging ur contestants and trying to gain sympathy of the public you will not gain votes.. Koi nayaa tareeka sochiye 😉 Ismailji is trying to create new comments.. If he had problem with the dress code, he could have said it to her back stage.. Upar se comment marne ki kyaa zaroorat hain.. Chalo he is a happy man, both of his contestants get through in the first stage - As usual the luck factor also played for him.. Bappida should try to support his contestants.. He is accepting what the other mentors say.. This is Vishwayudh, thoda counter attack toh kijiye and please pass on your own comments, would luv to hear to that.. VS - playing safe??? Hmm maybe.. But still would luv to hear them speak more..

Overall mentors wise - sameold drama - we will get to see more of this sort..

Contestants and judgements - The judgement was absolutely right.. Choosing the best among the worst in girls was easy for the Mahagurus 😃 Amanat Ali is a great singer, hope he improves his throw in his voice and Rimi, please sur mein dhyaan dijiye.. Somehow u got through to second round, but need to improve a lot..

Felt really bad for Yogi.. I think he will be next Paresh.. Lets see 😛 Koyal - didnot catch the tune well, her anthra was bad - had to get eliminated.. Felt sorry for her because of comments in her dress code and choice of song.. Ujjaini and Himani sang it beautifully... Ujjaini's song is still playing in my ears.. None of them in this list are close to singers like Nihira, Himani.. Hope they improve themselves..

Other contestants who got through, is through shere luck.. They need lot of practice to maintain the standard of this platform.. Do remember that this stage has produced some great singers, hope you all do not reduce the standard of this huge platform.. Wish u luck 👍🏼

We are totally disappointed seeing the same old stories and scripts.. If we had to watch such drama, we would better sit and watch K serials, we want a reality show not a script with such huge drama.. If zee needs to maintain its SRGMP standard and attract the crowd, they better start understanding this.. 😕

Well, he did take auditions (they showed it on TV, and Amanat was a a part of it) although it was probably unnecessary. I doubt there would be a better singer from Dubai. If there was, they'd have found him by now. By the way, Amanat beat people like Wasi, Sikandar, and Junaid on his way to winning the title - so I would think he deserves to be on this show.

Lovely topic, hopefully I will not ramble too much here...

Starting off with Aditya, the host.... well, besides the fact that he is extremely cute 😳 😳 😳 and good looking, still wish that he had more dum in his voice! Needs more throw.... he shakes his head a lot :P Which is fine, not a big problem, just an observation... maybe some new lines as well, each time we have to say "Sangeet ka pratham vishwayudh?" But that's not a problem as must be consistent with that right..

The mentors... Ismail ji, pretty quiet, nice, no controversies there... not much to say about him... Vishal - Shekhar, very nice, I like them and they are quite scrict but not too much with their contestants and praise the other ones as well, fair with them... Bappida also, loves to praise everyone :P Not much withi him either... Himesh, again saying "I love you" to Asha ji million times... trying to impress her? But why is there always some kind of drama with him there's no need for it, wish that one episode we won't have drama with Himesh, atleast someone else.. haha, no, but really he is having unnecessary drama...

For the eliminated contestants - although I wanted Apurva and Sunil to stay, felt really bad for Yogi 😭 he's very sweet and wishing him all the best in the future... Koyal, that was the correct decision, did not much like her choice of songs and she was not always in sur..

So far I really liked Apurva and Sunil, Meghna needs to improve a bit but liked her improvement.... all in all, waiting for that extremely talented singer who can blow us all away....

Ashaji and Ghulam Ali saab, always so simple and humble with their comments, 😃

One last thing... when Aditya putting his hand around Meghna for the last singing song..... kaash.. it would happen to me!! 😳 😳 😉

Only thing I felt was a bit out of order was Ashaji's talk regards the song that Koyal sung. I get a feeling whoever/however good/bad they would have sung those comments from Ashaji would not have changed. I felt she gave a lot of importane to the lyrics, which I dont have a problem with, these great singers avoid songs with such lyrics, but should they hold it for the judgement of a singer?

No way, its composition should not be criticised, she should have limited her criticism up to the performance of singer... That is her personal choice she won't sing that song... Why should we single out this type of songs from modern age... One can easliy listen Razia Sultana's song "Jalta hai badan" by Lata Ji... Read the lyrics carefully...Off course it has beautiful lyrics, but meaning is similar... This is art... Amitabh can do movie like Nishabd which can have much more impact on society...But Koyal sang this song badly...
