What's your opinion on this week's show - Page 6

Everyone literally took my review on yesterday's episode...but I'll just post my views anyway.😛

Well yesterday's episode was nothing really special...There wasn't that spark. Anyway the contestants did improove than Friday.

Aditya well like always, he was sweet and cute.😉 But I think the director needs to give him new lines now...you know it kinda gets boring listening to the same lines like the day before. He doesn't have a big part in this show, because the contestants, mentors, and judges are more important...Aditya was just there to look good.😆

Rimi...don't have anything to say about her. She just got lucky because she was better than all the worst female singers on Fri.
Meghna -- she did improove. Over all she was OK even though she had a sore throat/ infection...
Shrehsta was good too...I don't know why some people think she should have gone out instead of Koyal.😕
Koyal well let's just say she wasn't good. I didn't like her singing because she wasn't 'bold' enough. Himani sang this song way better than her (don't remember Ujjaini singing this song) Her outifit didn't suit her.🤢OK well this song wasn't "inappropriate" according to me because she either chose or didn't chose Rock Me Baby. I mean what's so wrong with this song...😕 whatever...
Amanat...don't remember his singing or his song.😕 So no comment...
Apurva he was good...But is it just me? I think he should have sang the 'Tu Hi Mere Shaab Hain" etc part softer like Sharib.😳
Sunil was great on Friday and yesterday. He was obviously the best male who performed this week.👏👏👏 Plus Asha ji's comment to him saying that he was the one who had perfect control over sur (or something like that) was really nice.
Yogendra...felt sorry for him. I don't know if Himesh just chose him as a part of his plan or whatever😡...but he is a good human being and innocent. He just smiled when Himesh criticized him and took his comments as a way to improove. He's not that great of a singer and he admitted not having a classical background. I think he'll be brought back later.😉

Himesh and his never-ending drama.🤢 He just went on and on about Yogendra being a great guy but why did he choose him in the first place if he wasn't a good singer? And sheesh how many times did this guy say "I love you" to Ashaji?🤔 He's got a good memory of Aitraaz and the movie's songs, actors/actresses, who sang this song in the past...😆

Vishal-Shekhar are good mentors.👍🏼 They praise and cheer on contestants when they sing well but then they're strict when the contestants from their gharanas need improovement.

Ismail Darbar had it easy yesterday because both of his people got green light. He was ok mentoring wise...But his comment to Koyal and her dress was just...🤢 He should have kept his comment 'til the end of the show and told her later...now that was inappropriate...

Bappida is an easy-go kinda guy. I don't know how he's gonna do later on on the show. He's the nice, jolly kinda mentor.😆 But he should be strict and all and needs to learn from the others about how to help his gharana improove and pick out their faults...It was awfully nice of him for what he said to Yogi.😊

Asha Bhonsle -- She was actually doing a great job commenting on the contestants weakness, giving 'em tips on how to improove. Then she also picked out the places where the contestants sang well. She was a little sharp though. It was funny when she told Himesh that this isn't the place for fights...😆 But then again it was kinda... I don't know...because of course he can't argue with her. When she apologizied to Koyal on the mentor's behalf it was nice of her...but what about her comments on Rock Me Baby.😳

Ghulam Ali Saab -- Didn't really understand what he was saying. It came out all quiet and mumbled...His comments were short....😕

I hope next week's epsiode is better!!!

anyone who may be interested:

F's performances:
IMHO
Rag Mala good

Amanat Ali from Dubai: He sings mere naina sawan badho — not so bad
but somehow not like Mitwa. I liked his mini alap later, that's why he
went forward
Rimi Dhar from Jabalpur MP - She sings Daiyaa yeh main kahaan aa fasi -
-I don't know why she got the green light — compared to the original or
to Twinkle's version, she was not good. ID of all people should know this

Koyal Chatterjee from Dhanbad - Sings Hum jo mile hain— so boring, I
don't remember it
Sunil Kumar from Sunderban? - sings Tumse milke aisa laga - -it's his
voice, not ready, does not seem trained, maybe he had a bad day

Apurva from Mumbai sings chala jaata hoon kisi ki dhun mein - -some
besura but not so bad
Meghna sings Piya Bawri - -totally besura - -she appears not to be
qualified to sing such songs and Ashaji was too kind, I am not sure why
her gurus let her sing this song!

Yogendra Pathak from London - sings Dil bhar mere kab tak mujhe - -
several besura notes, I expected better from him but at least he kept his
cool and he has a nice presence
Shreshta Banerjee from Kolkatta sings Aao na gale lagalona — I don't
think she was great but better than Meghna!

Overall it seems like the girls all chose very difficult Asha songs and they
did not deliver. It seems like the quality of singers keeps going down
here. I did not hear a Nihira, Twinkle, Shreya, Sudeshna, Sanjeevni,
Ronkini, etc... In the bunch

They guys were slightly better but not much!

HR's comments that they should not sing old songs seemed ridiculous.
Perhaps I misunderstood what he meant to say. Good music is timeless
and a good trained singer would be able to do justice to these eternal
melodies. The problem was not that it was too hard to live up to the
original. The problem is that it appears that many of these singers do not
have the proper classical foundation to execute these great compositions
(not all -- Amanat most certainly has a good classical background).

Maybe it was not a good day, hope they sound better tomorrow.

Agree with Advil though that these mentors/gurus are being a little harsh
and hypocritical. Are they not responsible for the song choices that the
kids are making? Are they not training them? They [ocked their own
gharana mostly so there is really no excuse for the pubic cribbing. I am
so gad that Ashaji called out VS on it. Himesh demoralizing Yogi was not
cool. Bappi L. seemed to be the nicest, honest but not mean. VS should
have been critical of their female singer as she was terrible as opposed to
the male one who was not bad. HR was overly hyper despite his promise
to be mellow. I think that he was embarassed in front of the judges but
then further proceeded to embarass himself. But so as not to be
disrepectful, I note all the MD's are extremely talented and successful and
they deserve our respect for that aspect.
Sat. 's performances
IMHO
Group Performance:
Aditya Narayan, Rimi and Amanat sing tauba tauba ishq main kariyaan
from the movie Kaal.. Agree, not a good performance, Rimi was
particularly awful.


Meghna sings zindagi mein koi kabhi aaye na Rabba.
I thought she was besura in more than a few places. Is that due to her
throat infection? Also her voice does shake and it is annoying.

Apurva sings Tu hi meri shab hain from Gangster..
The first note was off but no doubt he has a nice voice. I just wish he
would concentrate on pitching rather than dancing because I think that
Ashaji is correct that he actually has the kind of voice that would make
him a good playback singer. Also a good song choice for him.

Yogendra from London sings Phirta rahu darbhadar
Why didn't Himesh find someone who was really from London? That
really bugs me. I think that girl with the odd red hair would have been a
more interesting choice. Great song but but he was really besura, I could
barely stand to listen! He got a little better towards the end. I felt sorry
for the judges. But he does seem like a nice person. Totally would have
him to dinner but would avoid having him doing the after singing
entertainment

Shreshta sings Tere liye hum hain jiye
Some besura notes but a nice voice. The antara was better. I thought she
put some nice touches in and put feeling into it. Also a nice song choice
for her voice. Needed more throw. But much better than yesterday.


Sunil Kumar sings dil de diya hain jaan tumhe denge..
Nice song but he missed many of the kaj and was a little flat on some
notes though I hate to disagree with Ashaji. But still sang it well.

Koyal sings - Rock me baby from Aitraaz..
Why was she screaming at the beginning? NOT a good song choice in
front of these judges. Antara was besura. Both Ujjaini and Himani did a
better job with this song. She could have made it softer. I could have also
done without ID's comments on the clothes. I do agree with Asha on the
comments on the song and I wish SRGM would retire the song from this
show. It's a beautiful song but every time it is sung, ID has this creepy
smile and half the audience is embarrassed. If Asha queen of the cabaret
songs is embarrassed, I think that says it all. But regardless, she did not
do the antara well so her marks were low. As for the song choice, I wish
someone would clarify who chooses the songs. In fact, the more I think
about it, they probably made her sing this song to annoy the judges and
cause controversy! Really yesterday they started with a rag mala and then
talk of Pa is for parampara and then they go to "Rock me baby, push me"
baby which is inappropriate for a family show.

Right choices to leave.

This overemotional sequences are a little corny. Someone please get
Himesh a mood stabilizer. Poor Ashaji! She probably feels compelled to
forgie him because he clearly some issues when on the SRGM stage.

Why was no one crying for Koyal, not that I was either. Every elimination,
one person is apotlighted and the other person is pushed to the side.

Hey guys, that was all great opnion...seems my opinions also has been voiced.

This week's show - the drame, the issues looked so staged.As if getting the public ready to introduce something and my gut feeling is it has all to do with Ekalavya Gharana introduction.

But if it is so, then I am really angry at zee for having put the participants through this humiliating grill. Mentors , that too music directors should know the strongh points of their participants by now and make them sings songs , thatw ill highlight their talent ...

why make then sing songs that ware still way out their their range.!

Sunil,Apurva & Amanat are the only ones who still showed some promise...Sad to say, but not a single song of this week touche d the heart, feelings, emotions were totally lacking.

Himesh just got on my nerves with his cribbing, I guess Bappida was the only sober one.

The only thing that touched me was Yogi's parting comments,and his fathers singing...

Koel and yogi both deserved to be out!
