There's no need to play speed chess Rahul. Take the questions slowly, one at a time. Remember how Jaya got pounded with questions the moment she started rejoicing that she had finished answering the backlog of questions? 😆 If you answer slowly you get lesser questions - that's the trick, I guess.

Rahul sahana is right, but see from other perspective too. The whole purpose of MOW is to see the point of perspective of MOW, so if you do in hurry you are not able to do justice to the question and may leave wrong perception...which is not good.... I believe in Quality than quantity too... so it will help you either way....just take your time and take care of yourself too.

You are doing good 👏👏👏 so don't worry too much...

You are just doing great in your motw and read all your answers.. Your thoughts are amazing.. I luved ur replies for defining relationships of father, mother and certain other answers.. Ur educational qualification speaks here 😊

Well, as im too impressed, I want to put forward certain questions 😛 Chalo, kuch dhang ki baatein karte hain 😉

Yesterday, in the editorial section of the Hindu Newspaper, I read an interesting article comparing Indian education with china..

1.a. The article read that the investment on education and the equipments are not sufficient in India to provide the high quality education that is available in China and other countries.. Do you agree with this?? Why and why not..

i think it's totally true. we seem to be focused on the 'here and now'. there's not much political payoff for the characters who run our country to think long-term, which is what is required for investments in education to pay off. One thing nehru and others did well was to fund the IITs, not that i am a great fan of him generally and not that a lot of funds were not wasted elsewhere. We could face serious trouble unless we invest heavily in the education sector.

1.b.But as we all know India doesnot have the necessary to fund for investments, please tell us, in what all ways we can cut the investments and put in more investments for the educational purposes?

govt can try and work with private enterprises in some kind of partnership to invest in on-the-job training and pre-job education. i think this is already being done in a very small way by companies like TCS and Infosys, but it's a drop in the bucket. perhaps we need to incentivize such positive behavior thru corporate tax changes.

but to be fair to the pols, there's also a catch-22 situation. unless we generate growth in the short-run, we dont get enuff revenues for other purposes such as education. so we need some balance between short-run and long-run objectives. also, we need to think wholistically and divert resources from wasteful spending, tax loopholes, corruption which is a useless tax on productivity etc. It would pay also to have good diplomacy negate the need for massive defense spending.

2. The article also stated that there is no basic foundation of education given to the students in India.. That is the base of the students in India are not strong when compared to China.. Do you agree with this statement.. why or why not

i am not sure what is meant by that statement. if we are talking about base in terms of broad accessibility and reach and quantity of schools, then it's true. if we are talking about quality, then sorry i dont know enuff about china.

3. Another fact given was - The research scholars coming out of India every year is very less when compared to India.. The statitiscs shows tat the number of articles presented in a particular Journal in India from the top institutes like IIT, 35 while compared to CAS alone is around 105 or so.. What do you think is the main reason for such a low number of articles published in the journals and why is it that the research scholars in India are so less in numbers while China actually had its actual education base started only frm 1980..

i think that's true. but it wld not bother me much. as a capital-constrained economy, we've probably been better off developing our education around commercial payoffs, rather than the more capital-intensive pre-application research. in a sense, we've been able to by-pass the need for original research in recent times by simply capitalizing on the applications. so in other words, i'd rather we continued to produce more techies who can apply research rather than those who might someday (if ever) shake the world with original work.

I can see you having many backlogs, so I stop here and will come back with next set once ur backlogs are completed.. 😳 Take ur time to answer 😊

you're right. in a sense, it's the classic quantity/ mass audience versus quality/ eclectic reach dilemma.😊

in any case, will have to come back later this evening for the most part since have work to do...
