Twinkle to sing for Aadesh Shrivastav
By: Tushar Joshi
July 15, 2005

Tonight, Zee Saregamapa Challenge 2005 will not only eliminate some singers, but will also mark the beginning of a career as a professional playback singer for contestant Twinkle Bajpai.

Twinkle bagged her first playback assignment for a film for which music will be given by Aadesh Shrivastav. She sang Tumhe Yaad Karte Karte from the film Amrapali and impressed the judges with her rendition.

One judge particularly overwhelmed by her performance was Shrivastav. After hearing her sing, he immediately offered her his film project as a playback singer.

"I had actually sung previously on the same show before it changed its look. I had sung for a college special episode, where Aadeshji had expressed his desire to work with me. But I had a sore throat so I couldn't go. However this time around there's no way I will miss this opportunity," says Bajpai.

Commenting on the cutthroat competition on the show she says, "Everyone is amazingly talented and you have to make sure your performance is the best. I have been giving my best to each and every song I have sung. I do riyaz regularly and leave everything else to God."

When asked what her expectations from the show are, she said, "I want to do professional playback singing for films. That's my ultimate ambition."
Now she's on her way!

You are welcome vcool.

In yesterday's episode, one of the contestents got an offer from himesh reshamayia. Seems like this programme is going to be good for the singers.

The quality of fame gurukul singers is pretty pathetic, most of them are unable to even hold their sur whereas in saregama, we are seeing a different level altogether. In this they r talking about, expressions and stuff.

The quality of the singers on friday was also very good. Next week is the last bit of this round. Then they will have the 32 contestant who will divided into the 4 gharanas.

Next week they are also going to pull shaan's leg by saying that he is not singing well !

Ismail darbar is most irritating, he should work on his diction before ridiculing the participants- if one has to make a point about something, it can be done in a nice way- but he is very arrogant and rude.

yeah Ismail darbar gets on my nerves too, hes just so pompous and full of himself and why does he humiliate the poor kids, this girl from assam sang well if not excellent and he just said, I DONt like your voice, I just dont like, whatever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi guys....... just joining this forum. am a big sa re ga ma fan.

last episode i think it was really unfair for the little girl (think her name was sanchari, one with the specs, very young) Aadesh called her a theekhi mirchi. she was tied with 2 other girls and since they needed only 2, she was kicked off and the reason was she is too young. i think its absolutely unfair! She was awesome and deserved a fair chance.

I think the contestants on sa re ga ma r too good as compared to FG and the judges on FG, esp javed saab, r 1000 times better than Sa re ga ma ones.

No the judges in Fame gurukul are not very rude- they are quite blunt and straightforward but not rude-
ismail darbar is very rude- sometimes i feel himesh is also very rude-

there is a very fine line between being rude and being honest and straight- forward, i think none of them on fg are rude but ismail even beats anu in this.

I agree with you abcplus- sanchari is very good and she has been on saregama children special many times and won and i think she sang very well- the judges just eliminated her because they thought she was young and can have many more chances- but that is not fair- she is very good singer and deserved to be in the final 32. I hope they bring her back!

Also i feel that their selection procedure is very flawed- one day you have very mediocre singers and they choose four out of the mediocre one and one day they have very good singers and a very good singer gets eliminated- there is too much luck involved in this which is not fair.
