Should the new SRGMP C2007 have a special round for old songs?

I understand that SRGMP is now a platform for youngsters to go on and become contemporary musicians, but isn't the forte of SRGMP its hi-quality, old music? I mean, it was singing of of classical-based, and old songs that got Shreya Ghoshal, Ronkini, and Sanjeevini fame. In keeping with that tradition, I believe that a special round should be dedicated specially to old numbers. What do the rest of you'll think?

I think that would be great. These days people seem to like re-mixes so it would be nice to hear the original version. Hope Gajji does think of having a round of oldies.

Atleast one round of Classical based songs (old hindi songs) should be included, that will be the real test for everyone.

The definition of 'old' is also important. It often means songs from Amitabh Bachchan films, whereas some of us understand old to mean songs from films like Baiju Bawra, Jahanara, etc.

Old as in 50s, 60s and 70s. 😃
