hey Abhi bhai (that's Abhilash D), loved the writing style, the forcefulness, the power- wish it were possible to see more of it but somehow i doubt that'll happen. like Appa said, it's the metaphors!
on the issues, agree with almost all points except the one relating to moderation. i think we've ended up with all these restrictions thanks to all the clamor on the forum to clamp down on everyone else's free expression, except one's own. someone doesn't like chatty threads, someone else wants it to be just on the current program that's running, someone else finds a joke off-color, and so on till we have an endless list.
it's a pity that rather than learn and enhance one's own skills using a low-threat virtual environment, we just fly off the handle whenever we find an expression we dont like, an idea we cant counter effectively. classic case of the least common denominator principle at work, where we've been working hard to pull each other down to the most sanitized and insipid form of interaction, one where there's not a whole lot of tolerance for other differing styles etc. now what to do? after all we've got to play it safe since we do not want to have folks taking offense.
to a large extent, that's us members doing that, not the mods. just check out what has gone on in this thread and elsewhere. so many of us finding numerous occasions to hunt down the other guy. the mods are basically reflecting what different folks want and are doing perhaps the best job they can under difficult circumstances. unfortunately based on our track record, i think whatever they do, some of us will always find fault there.
btw, did they ever catch the grasshoppers? 😆
