Himesh Reshammiya with Ali Asgar Godhrawala and his mother
He's currently touring the US with his Aap Ka Suroor entourage, but there's one incident that has left Himesh Reshammiya completely zapped. The singer recently met up with one very special fan. Twenty two

year old Ali Asgar Godhrawala has been suffering from cerebral palsy that has impaired his speech and movement.

Suffering since birth, Ali is unable to respond to things around him.

However, things took an amazing turn recently, when for the first time Ali appeared to be looking at the television with interest.

Ali was watching Himesh perform a song. Apparently, this was the first time Ali had positively reacted to anything.

No scientific reply

After the news spread, the local press covered this story about Ali having reacted to Himesh's Jhalak Dikhlaja and other popular songs.
Reshammiya was informed about Ali attending his Chicago concert before the performance.

"I was told the whole story by the promoters, and was curious and excited to meet Ali," says Himesh. Not only did Himesh make arrangements for Ali to sit and watch the show up close and personal, but also made eye contact with him through out the show.

"His parents told me that he was being expressive and reacting in a way he never has before. It was a miracle of sorts for them," says a proud Himesh. "His parents told me how he would listen to my songs all day long. The doctors too are stunned, as they have no scientific explanation for this. They have in fact asked his parents to keep playing my music all day long, and expose him to my popular songs."

Divine intervention

Himesh claims it is divine intervention. "I am blessed to be able to touch some one's life in this way. There are events we cannot explain, and this is one of them."

Even though he treats all his fans equally, Himesh admits Ali is special. "He definitely holds a very close place in my heart. He's special. I will keep track of his health and praying for him."

Currently on his way to Boston, Himesh played to a packed arena in New York over the weekend. "I should be back home in a week's time. Apart from meeting thousands of fans, the tour has been filled with really interesting moments. But my encounter with Ali and singing for him will definitely stand out as my favourite memory."

Doc: It's possible

We checked with a neurology expert to verify Himesh's claims. Doctor Roop Gursahani, senior consultant neurologist with Hinduja Hospital says, "There is a possibility of an individual reacting to music.

However, this should not be looked as any recovery of sorts. Music is therapeutic and we too make our patients listen to music when possible. It might be possible that some emotion in the song got through to Ali."

Good thing that the boy showed responded to external stimuli .

Well ....what else can I say ?? .... Hat's off to you HR ..( Though I doubt his improved condition has got anything to do with your singing )

It was very considerate of Himmy to be making an eye contact with Asgar during the concert. Himmy must have believed that he can cure him.God bless Asgar and Himmy..

Hm...as funny as some of the statements were, if this is true it is really nice. People respond to different things and if HR's music helped, then I am quite happy. His music is rather upbeat, maybe thats why.
