Thank you very much Barnali di. 🤗

😭 Please don't say that Ajoy Chakrabarty has lost touch. I haven't heard any of his newer albums. This means, I should not listen to them either and let the good memories stay with me.

The main reason why AC lost touch is because he has become too commercial. The last album that I bought of him had songs that he had sung using echo chamber. Can you tell me why does a God gifted voice need an echo chamber. After that I did not buy any of his albums.

SUPERB IDEA. With the number of people hitting this website everyday, it would be a wonderful platform to promote classical music. But I don't think it would be very popular if we have a hardcore classical episode as the first episode. The taste for classical music develops with time. So we should start with light classical, then go to semi-classical for few weeks and then go to pure classical. I am praying that by that time our listeners will develop a taste for it.

I can't agree more Appa.... That would be the best. Starting with lighter ones first then going up slowly slowly.

Infact we may need help from some members here itself for presenting the program. And Appa seriously speaking you are on top of my list for that 😛

Interest to Classical music is declining these days.. but what about 50 years later? If its declining now, then can we predict that after 50 years the classical music might not exist... How many children of the classical musicians take the same classical music as the carrer?

Its all about ones own interest of learning classical music... Yes, if the family has a musical background, then it is always better.... As barnaldi mentioned there are many academy who give training to the children.. but how many of the parents care to send them for training.. Only if the family is of musical background or some rare cases, the family takes the initiatives... My family does not have any musical background.. yet i have learnt classical music on my own interest.. Whenever i attend any concert, my parents acompany me but they always ask me wake them up if they sleep i always get hurt when such things happen.. Whenever i go and listen to a concert i notice that, there are very few listeners who actually come for listening the concert.. Others just come sit for sometime and leave the hall... isnt this an insult to the art..

sahanaji's point on learning of classical music is absolutely true.. I have on the whole changed 4 teachers for learning classical music and everytime i had to start from the scrap... I totally lost interest in it and was able to reach only upto keertanai in carnatic music... i learnt only very few of the keertanai's and really regret that i was not able to learn thyagaraja keerthanai's... The keerthanai yentharo mahanobhavo is such a beautiful composition which i never got the chance to learn and i still regret for this...

Why not people like us who are interested in classical music spread the awarness of classical music? This thread has gone 4 pages... Any other thread discussing about twinkle's hair goes upto 50 or 100 pages in the forum... This itself says what is the stay of classical music these days... Though many of us start classical musical threads here, how many of them actively take part?

Recently when i attended Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasiya concert, i told my friend i was going to a concert, my friend asked me who is Panditji? I was totally taken aback... So, what are the steps that we can follow here to spread the awarness is the question... Academy's provide training.. but how many academy's actually spread the awarness...

If there is a concert for Himeshji then there are banners through out the city, there are posters all over, the tickets are sold on the net, prizes are distributed, but if the samething is for a classical musician, there are no banners. no adds nothing.. It has to be our own interest and contact with the academy that we will have to know when is the concert and where to get the tickets....

If this is the case now, then what will be the situation 50 years later?

Decline more and more... and one day there might be hardly handful of people having interest towards classical music... This is just my point of view...

IF can become a platform too for the upliftment of classical music. So many here have good knowledge in this field. They all can help out in this....

Fantastic idea... 👏 Again it will be only we who are interestedin classical music listening to them... how many ofthem will listen?
So, my suggession would be to play a mix of both classical and bollywood streams in a single episode... Play the song, announce what raga it was, and then play a bollywood song with the same raga.. so, awarness here increases... Also play one famous song of the musician who has composed song of that raga... so, people will be more interested
