Hindi Song Title: Ham Laaye Hain Toofan Se Kashti Nikaal Ke

Hindi Movie/Album Name: JAGRITI - 1954

Singer(s): RAFI

Hindi Lyrics:

paase sabhi ulat gaye dushman ki chaal ke

akshar sabhi palat gaye bhaarat ke bhaal ke

manzil pe aaya mulk har bala ko taal ke

sadiyon ke baad phir ude badal gulaal ke

ham laaye hain toofaan se kashti nikaal ke

iss desh ko rakhana mere bachchon sambhaal ke

tum hi bhavishhya ho mere bhaarat vishaal ke

is desh ko rakhana mere bachchon sambhaal ke

dekho kaheen barbaad na hove ye bageecha

isako hriday ke khoon se baapu ne hai seencha

rakkha hai ye chiraag shaheedon ne baal ke, is desh kot...

duniya ke daanv pench se rakhana na vaasta

manzil tumhaari duur hai lamba hai raasta

bhatka na de koi tumhen dhokhe mein daal ke, is desh ko...

aitam bamon ke zor pe ainthi hai ye duniya

baarood ke ik dher pe baithi hai ye duniya

tum har kadam uthaana zara dekha bhaal ke, is desh ko...

araam ki tum bhool bhulayya mein na bhoolo

sapanon ke hindolon pe magan hoke na jhoolo

ab waqt aa gaya hai mere hansate hue phoolon

utho chhalaang maar ke aakaash ko chhu lo

tum gaad do gagan pe tiranga uchhaal ke, is desh ko...

Hindi Song Title: Na tum humen jaano
Hindi Movie/Album Name:
BAAT EK RAAT KI
Singer(s): SUMAN KALYANPUR, HEMANT KUMAR

Hindi Lyrics: Na tum humen jaano, na hum tumhe jaane
Magar lagta hai, kuch aaisa, mera humdam mil gaya

Yeh mausam yeh raat chup hai
Do hothon ki baat chup hai
Khamoshi sunaane lagi hai dastaan
Yeh mausam yeh raat chup hai
Do hothon ki baat chup hai
Khamoshi sunaane lagi hai dastaan
Nazar ban gayi hai, dil ki zabaan

Na tum humen jaano, na hum tumhe jaane
Magar lagta hai, kuch aaisa, mera humdam mil gaya

Mohabbat ke mod pe hum
Mile sab ko chhod ke hum
Dhadakte dilon ka leke yeh karawan
Mohabbat ke mod pe hum
Mile sab ko chhod ke hum
Dhadakte dilon ka leke yeh karawan
Chale aaj dono jaane kahan?

Na tum humen jaano, na hum tumhe jaane
Magar lagta hai, kuch aaisa, mera humdam mil gaya

Manju,

The lyricist of the 2 songs you listed, Kavi Pradeep, wrote some of the best known patriotic songs. Few more I can cite are --

1. Dedi hame azadi bina khadag bina dhal, sabarmati ke sant tune kar diya kamal
2. Aao baccho tumhe dikhae zaki hindustan ki

The second one sung by himself. Both are from Jagruti.

Here is something on Kavi Pradeep---

The number 'Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon' was originally supposed to be sung by Asha Bhosle, due to a misunderstanding between composer C. Ramchandra and Lata Mangeshkar. Kavi Pradeep though, was adamant about having Lata Mangeshkar sing the song, as he felt that hers was the only voice that could do justice to the number. C. Ramchandra was unsure whether Mangeshkar would agree to sing, so Kavi Pradeep began the task of convincing her to hear the song. On hearing the song she was moved so much that she instantly agreed to sing the song, on condition that Kavi Pradeep be present at the rehearsals. 'Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon' went on to become one of the greatest patriotic songs of the country. It was while listening to Lata Mangeshkar's rendition of 'Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo' that Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru was moved to tears. For writing the song he was conferred the honour of "Rashtriya Kavi" (National Poet) by the Government Of India.

I know salilu, I just didn't want to say all of them but these 2 really brings tears to my eyes.

Kavi Pradeep I loved his songs like

1. Pinjare kepanchi re, tera dard na jane koye

2. Bhagwaan tujhe mein khat likhta, par tera pata maloom nahin

3. Toot gayee hai maala moti bikhar chale

I can keep on going with that list...

Madan Mohan-ji's soulful compositions makes me most emotional. There are so many songs that I can list that move me so much when I hear them years after years. The magic of those songs never fades. I will list few here---

Film: Woh Kaun Thi (1964)

Lyric: Raja Mehendi Ali Khan

lag jaa gale ke fir ye, haseen raat ho naa ho
shaayad fir is janam me, mulaakaat ho naa ho

hum ko milee hain aaj ye ghadeeyaan nasib se
jee bhar ke dekh lijiye, hum ko kareeb se
fir aap ke nasib me, ye baat ho naa ho
shaayad fir is janam me, mulaakaat ho naa ho

paas aaeeye ke hum naheen aayenge baar baar
baahe gale mein daal ke, hum ro le jaar jaar
aakhon se fir ye, pyaar kee barasaat ho naa ho
shaayad fir is janam me, mulaakaat ho naa ho
-------------------------------------------------------

Film: Aapki Parchhaiyan (1964)

Lyric: Raja Mehndi Ali Khan

agar muz se mohabbat hain, muze sab apane gam de do
in aankhon kaa har yek aansoo, muze meree kasam de do

tumhaare gam ko apanaa gam banaa loo, to karaar aaye
tumhaaraa dard seene mein chhoopaa loo, to karaar aaye
wo har shay jo, tumhe dukh de, muze mere sanam de do

shareek-ye-jindagee ko kyo, shareek-ye-gam naheen karate
dukhon ko baatakar kyo, in dukhon ko kam naheen karate
tadap is dil kee thodee see, muze mere sanam de do

in aakhon mein naa ab muz ko kabhee aasoo najar aaye
sadaa hasatee rahe aankhe, sadaa ye honthh musakaye
muze apanee sabhee aahe, sabhee dard-o-alam de do
------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------

Film: Haste Jakhm (1973)

Lyric: Kaifi Azami

betaab dil kee, tamannaa yahee hain
tumhe chaahenge, tumhe poojenge
tumhe apanaa khudaa banaayenge

sune sune khwaabo mein, jab tak tum naa aaye the
khushiyaan thee sab aauron kee, gam bhee saare paraaye the
apane se bhee chhupaayee thee, dhadakan apane seene kee
hum ko jeenaa padataa thaa, khwaayeesh kab thee jeene kee
ab jo aa ke tum ne, humei jeenaa seekhaa diyaa hain
chalo duniyaan nayee basaayenge

bheegee bheegee palakon par, sapane kitane sajaaye hain
dil mein jitanaa andheraa thaa, utane ujaale aaye hain
tum bhee hum ko jagaanaa naa ,baaho mein jo so jaaye
jaise khushaboo fulon me, tum mein yoo hee kho jaaye
pal bhar kisee janam me, kabhee chhoote naa saath apanaa
tumhe ayese gale lagaayenge

waade bhee hai, kasmei bhee, beetaa wakt ishaaronkaa
kaise kaise aramaan hai, melaa jaise bahaaron kaa
saaraa gulashan de daalaa, kaliyaa aaur khilaao naa
hasate hasate ro de hum itanaa bhee to hasaao naa
dil mein tum hee base ho, saaraa aanchal wo bhar chukaa hain
kahaa itanee khushee chhupaayenge
------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------

The last one was sung by Supriya in C2005 prelim round. I go back to my archieve and hear it many times. That song literally moved all the mentors. They were speechless for a while... HR said something like-- ye gana hi itana achha hai ke koi bhi gata to hum itnehi emotional ho jate.... such beautiful are Madan-ji compositions......
