maam, i think a lot of how we perceive music, beauty, literature, poetry etc has to do with "us", the "receivers". like they say, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. if i am a texas yahoo who's grown up around a texan accent, it wld be hard for me to appreciate the nicetes of a different dialect or language, no? sonu nigam could give the best rendition in hindi, but some of us would still find something lacking there, no?😛

yes one can prefer someones rendition over the other .......there is nothing wrong in it .......i think in India we treat famous people as god ......when they are struggling people try to run them down but after they get fame they become unbeatable ,invincible....i remember when sonu's first album deewana released .....many said he has a voice like a girl and he cannot sing for mainstream hero's....but he proved everyone wrong ...this attitude is the reason so many singers(even actors) monopolized the industry ....like we have billions of faces and each one is unique ....why cannot we appreciate what we like ?????what is the need to prove who is right and who is wrong ?????on what basis ????.......we do not compare anyone with lataji or any other great singer becasue we respect them for what they acheived in their life but not becasue they are invincible.........

lemme repeat: "sonu nigam could give the best rendition in hindi, but some of us would still find something lacking there, no?" 😉

haan yaar, totally agree with you otherwise. never know which of the struggling chaps ultimately makes it. only thing is i wldnt bet the farm on it, especially when they start out with some diction problem.😛

given that, pardon me if i dont find find anything intelligible in the post to respond to. 😛

The Huh was not meant to be a personal attack. 😕 It was in response to your question about whether u can express your opinion about Hema. I was confused why u were asking me that? You quoted me, so I thought that was meant for me. So, if that is what is classified as a "comprehension issue", perhaps it was as such.

Can your statement be construed as a personal attack? Or is that also another comprehension issue?

if i prefer hari ji's song to sonu that does not mean sonu was lacking something .......its just my preference .......you could give the best singer award to sonu and not hariharan and it would still be okay with me ........and about texan not appreciating different dialect then all i can say is ignorance and arrogance 😊.......i personally do appreciate other languages and dialects....love rabindra sangeet even though don't understand the language .........don't know what you were trying to say ?? hope this clears everything 😊

I don't get it (obviously). NOBODY said that Sonu did not do a good job on this song. Let's forget Hariharan. But if we like someone else's version better than Sonu, why is that taken as insulting Sonu. As I said earlier, Sonu's version was flawless, and Hema's was not. But if some of us like Hema's version more, why is it such a big deal? Somehow, SOnu's version didn't touch me, and Hema's did. Again, we are not saying that Hema is a better singer than sonu. That would be stupid to even think about making that comparison.

To each his own..one man's meat is another man's poison..we should love the songs not the singers..when one loves a good song his called a music lover but when someone likes the song only because somebody he/she likes has sang ,then it is called fanaticism !!🤢

Perfect Adi 👏- Lets all appreciate music and move on... We all know what Sonu is capable of and what we has achieved.. And we love him for that...😛

Wishing Hema the very best too... Hope he can make it big - for him and his fans👍🏼

In Saathiya, I liked Hema's flawed version better. In Tumse Milke Dil ka... then Hema wasn't that good. So we can't analyse songs/singers renditions anymore? That doesn't make us music lovers? Then as music lovers we should like all the singer in EMET then, because the songs are good right? Well, if it is not sung well (according to my tastes/evaluation), I don't like it (Please do not apply this statement to Sonu's Saathiya...as I said it was flawless, but didn't touch me). So am I not a music lover? Au contraire, I think.
