SCS ji.. there's a difference between fan clubs and Annapurna Devi post..

1) Annapurna Devi is a unique informative post. There is no other information about her - so this is helpful. Fan clubs, on the other hand, tell us nothing about the celebs that we don't already know.

2) Fan clubs run to 100s of pages of basically nothing.. Annapurna Devi is only 4 pages long, and EACH and every one of those pages contains new, detailed info.

3)Annapurna Devi was just started today, and is fresh. The day it begins to stretch endlessly and just develop into a chat section, then it should also be ended.

I haven't read the Annapurna Devi post. I personally find it kind of boring - but I have no problems with people wanting to share info about her or getting to know her, since she is a forgotten person who deserves a few moments in the sun.

When I am objecting to the fan clubs it is because of them being chat topics. Those other posts are not chat topics. There proper discussion is being taking place.

Fine if you all have objection to those posts shifted to music corner I will change my posts content and anounce that those clubs will be closed as of now.

shadytownji, that question was for the mods... but since u have raised those points i might as well answer them: fine, it is informative, fine each page gives info about her, and fine it is fresh... but what has it got to do with emaet? there is a music corner section and u can discuss as much of music there as is whithin u... the point being discussed here is, this is the srgmp emaet section - period...

Hi Bhaskar,

I am not against your closing "chatty topics" - but fan clubs about SRGMP singers do not fall in that category. Challenge 2005 has just concluded, and the career of all the singers are in their infancy stage. That's why members want to continue to talk about them. There maybe a few posts where people are chatting, but most of the time they are either exchanging information about singers.

For example, II2 is going on... that doesn't mean that people cannot talk about Abhijeet Sawant in the Indian Idol Section... or Qazi/Rooprekha in the FG section. Yes, there is a new SRGMP show going on, but its still related to the old show.

I think its highly unfair of the Development Team to make such decisions without caring about the views of forum members. I have never really spoken out against anyone or any decisions taken on this forum. But as a member who has tried to contribute, share music and abide by the rules, I think I should have some rights on this forum.

I hope you will reconsider this decision...

Thanks,
Vinaya.

I have replied to your query too.

Chat topics will not be allowed here and thats final. One chat topic per week for members to interact will be there. No more.

Nobody is asking you to stop discussing those participants. But for that you don't need to have fan clubs. Those fan clubs are serving no other purpose than chatting.

disucssion takes place in that thread ok - but the proper place for it is music corener not emaet...

just as expected... there has rarely ever been any reasoning that justifies the action of the mods in this section...

Even this section is related to music. When we say SRGMP show it is also related to music. So those topics can stay here. Even topics on Vinit or Debu new news can be posted here. Himesh's new album can also be discussed. And why not??? They are all musical threads and the show being a musical show can always be discussed.

But no chat topics............ Thats final..........

i dont think there is any thread where chatting does not take place... and fanclubs r no different... but it is a place where u can post any new info, pics or any other thing about the contestants... it gives u a common place for doing that... and how is it harming anyone in anycase? all topics dont interest everyone after all... and u simply choose to ignore the ones that u dont like... u dont cut off and throw that section of the members away from the forum...

You just cannot generalize and say that "fan clubs are serving no other purpose than chatting". This place is sounding more like a dictatorship than a democracy... I can tell you one thing... if the fan clubs were only abt chatting, I would NOT be there. I do not come here just to chat.

There's a lot of information about songs, photographs, concert pics, etc in the fan clubs. Its easier for people to look for information about ONE star in ONE post... rather than go through a gallery of 100's of pages just to find one pic of one star...
