Fan Clubs to Be closed from this Forum...

Members are being informed that the Fan Club topics will be closed by the Dev Team here. Those topics serve no purpose other than chatting on the forum. So it has been decided to close all those topics.

Regarding Member to Member interaction topics members will post one topic every week. It will be made a sticky one where you all can have interactions. But before posting do let us know so that two topics don' get posted the same week.

Hope to get your support in this. It is being done to make the forum tidy and systematic.

Just a small clarification..

Can we discuss SRGMP contestants or not? There seems to be a confusion regarding that.

Especially when a new piece of info comes, this is a great place to find out news about the finalists of SRGMP Challenge.

U will close Fan clubs..hmmm What about fun clubs? will u be closing them too?

So it has been decided to close all those topics. Yes there is another option. The clubs can be shifted to the music corner. The member who started the fan clubs can PM me or soulsoup regarding that. Let us know if you want them to be shifted and we will shift them there.

Yes new news can be discussed and I have been telling this for a long time now. We just want to stop discussing the old show. Any new news about them will be welcomes here definitely.

I hope this doesn't sound rude, but I am not against closing the fan clubs but I dont see the harm in discussing the show, challenge 2005 particularly.

We always used to talk about Shreya Goshal, Hrishikesh, Parthiv during the challenge as well. What is wrong in talking about the good things or analysing these singers? I mean if we are given the right to discuss music here, I think we should be allowed to comment on them. Right now, there are just at the beginning of their career, and its just food for thought.

I would suggest to change the forum from SRGMP EMAET to just SRGMP thats it.. and keep it open to discussing anything pertaining to that show.

And the decision makes sense to me - it will make the forum more informative and discussive (is that even a word 😕 ), rather than simply chattive (i know this isn't a word for sure 😳 )

also regarding member to member indian idol section has a thread that sayschat on its heading why not we have that well i will say that in the suggestion area.

Angela.. it's not abour SRGMP or EMAET.. it's about topics where there's only chatting going on

Let me give you examples of chatting:

When people post messages like, "I'm off to sleep" or "I'll catch you tomorrow" or "where is everyone" or "how are you today" or "do you like so-and-so?" etc.

These kinds of posts are just small talk, and not very helpful. That is why they run to 100s of pages and thousands of messages. 😕

I agree with mods that there should be just one general sticky topic for such member-interaction topics.

The information that is posted in the club or the articles being p[osted into those clubs are also posted on the forum. So it actually does not make sense. What is happening in those topics is just chatting. It is being done to keep the forum clean let good topics stay in the first page. Past few months all the good musical topics are being sent back be it EMAT topics or others. Only these chat topics are staying back in the front page.

Members are just posting a message "Hi where are you all" and bringing the topic to the front page. Then chating starts over there. Thats something we want to stop now.

fanclubs being closed.... different rules for different people - that is what it is... if they r being closed for being chatty and irrelavent to emaet, why do u give the option of shifting them to music corner... totally baffling... in that case, why r threads on past legends or music in general allowed is what i fail to understand... is a thread saying "Vinit/Himani?hema Fanclub" more relavant to srgmp emaet, or a thread saying "Annapurnadevi: Lady shrouded in mystery"... which one of these shud be moved to music corner???? if u want this section to have only relavant topics, the rule shud apply uniformly, not selectively... then have ONLY emaet topics here...
