Kya hai qwertyji? This time we both are completely praising Hemantda...we are not writing anything against him. Plz don't make it look like we are accusing him of having a Bengali diction. His songs had a Bengali feel to them, and read this..IT IS A POSITIVE THING. Hence no need to read too much into it.😊

If I am not wrong, Tu hi re is sung by two diff singers...there are diff versions available😊

And let me repeat...this is not about diction. Bengali language is supposed to be one of the sweetest languages in the world. So anybody who speaks Benagli as mother tongue..has that natural sweet way of speaking!!! KK, Mannada..inspite of being Bengalis didn't have it so glaringly. In Hemantda's case it was prominent...not a negative thing. Yes LAtaji sounds Maharashtrian...does that mean she has a Maharashtrian diction?😕

Hello, qwertyji, My Friend in disagreement!!

Whoever told you, male voices cannot be sweet along with being masculine? Did I say, he sounded effeminate?😕. Plz read carefully, I said he had the best voice amongst all the male singers.

And I am not talking about diction😕...his rendition of songs had a Bengali feel, touch to it. Nothing wrong in that! Infact that is what makes him so much more lovable.😃

Let us talk about his Marathi song qwertyji.😉.I can definitely tell you he didn't sound Maharashtrian in that. Ofcourse, he is wonderful in the song. I love that song, bcz as usual he is sweet😉

Sorry MPji have to disagree here(maybe for the first time I agree with Querty(has to be a full moon day😉)

Somehow sweet only correlates with Alka more than with Hemantda, He has more of a Nasheela voice

BTW 3 out of 4 Marathi songs are super-hit

Marathi paaval padate pude (w/ chorus) Maratha Tituka Melvava Anandghan 1963
Mii dolkara dolkara (w/ Lata and chorus) Non-film Hridayanath Mangeshkar Koli geet 1970
Pritichya chaand raati Non-film Anil-Arun Shantaram Nandgoakar 1972
Gomu sangteena (w/ Asha) Ha khel savalyancha Hridayanath Mangeshkar Sudhir Moghe 1975

I did not know marathi paul padhte pudhe was not a marathi singer, you cant tell, 90% of marathi people wont be able to tell those three songs are not sung by a Bengali singer

just my POV

It is one of the most scariest thoughts actually agreeing with Qwerty on something, I am checking did I wear the shirt inside out or what, it is that kind of a day

anyway what's up with you, acchi baat bhi tum dhang se nahi kahte yaar, hazaar bengali logo ko dukhake Hemantda ke tareef

you are like a gun that hits the shooter more than the target? No wonder you are in the HR camp😉

Saregji,
Lets talk abt Marathi songs. I take it that you are a Maharashtrian?
mi dolkar...plz listen to this part...bandarala karto ye jaa..( ye jaa)..is it Maharashtrian diction?
Daat awlun nahi mhanalela? 😉
Pritichya chand rati..pritichyachand rati....not Maharashtrian diction 😊
Gomu Sangatina...this part...yeshil kay...common
Marathi paul padati pudhe...lots of singers...hence not a good example.
There is one more...dariyavari re tarli hodi ra....fantastic song.
And even if I were made ot hear that song in the middle of the night I would know its Hemantda...and not some marathi singer 😃

And now for the sweetness part.
When somebody says a singer is sweet, it means not his tone or voice...it means the total repeatitive quality in the singer's voice 😊 Rafi Sahab had a sweet voice..as compared to KK or Mannada...it makes him no. uno....so sweet as what I meant was a compliment and not a negative thing. Irrelevant as it is, I am a big fan of Hemantda. 😃

Dont you think most konkani songs are that way? I have heard most koligeet sung that way

moreever you think Hridayanath will let that slide? Even if it is Hemantda? He is so meticulous with Lata/Asha

but you might be right, next time I will listen to it with this thought

do you think those three songs are famous b'cos they are sung by Hemantda? or the wording is excellent? or the rendition is excellent?

The most famous Konkani song from Hridaynath is...maje rani...maje mogha!!! Does it sound similar to how Hemantda sounds?😊..Two Maharashtrians singing..Suresh Wadkar and LAtadidi. It is perfectly polished Marathi.

And I have all the songs you mentioned.. and the reason why they are famous?

10 reasons....Hemantda and Hemantda alone😉

Ok let us get a konkani person to talk about this(and no oblique reference here)

In my opinion all koligeet have wordings that go similar to the following and they are far from the Pune/Mumbai Marathi, MPji thinks otherwise

..bandarala karto ye jaa..( ye jaa)..is it Maharashtrian diction? Daat awlun nahi mhanalela? 😉

what do you say qwerty? or too many years in afghanistan got you to forget about that diction?, if it did, please dont phekufy here
