Niraj, I was reading an article, where it was mentioned, RDB had to go to studios to ask for work in his last days. Why do you think this happened? Inspite of a stupendous track record. And he ahd the ability to change with times, then why?😭😭

Yes he was spotted at house of Vidhu Chopra by Anu Malik.
He had a very bad time because of Bappi Lahiri by & large who broke all records of tune lifting & introduced disco muzic....😡
In fact that was the pint from where Hindi Film musi started going downhill. ----------------------------------------Bhappi Lahiri have given some grat original music as well, to quote on eg, aitbaar. Why the hell did he do all this palgiarising when he could have been original and popular as well. Today what is he known for😡

Guide was a flop. 😆

Guide when initially released was declared a flop. The story was too damned bold. A woman leaving her husband for a career. But then it picked up via mouth- publicity and as the cliche goes, rest is history.

For guide's music Dev anand waited for Burmanda for 6 months as burmanda was sick...and dev anand didnt want to replace him. Good choice...guide wouldnt have been such a big hit without its music....and wouldnt have gotten so many awards..
Interesting fact is guide didnt get the filmfare for best music that year...

Totally agree. Chalte Chalte was Bappi Lahiri's composition wasn't it?. Everyone remembers only Disco Dancer though.

IR is another composer who can keep his foot down when it comes to his compositions.

Sinhaji,

Thanks for such excellent posts.

oh yeah, even in the run-of -the mill films of Jeetendra Sridevi, amongst all those sari hawa ho gayi, jhopadi mein.... you can find one or two very decent and orignal compositions. I think there is one very melodious number in tohfa.
