ZEE's Saregamapa in a new avtaar !
The reality show SAREGAMAPA which brought ZEE TV to the second spot in the popularity ratings will now have an extended run . Some of the contestants which have been eliminated from the challenge are being called back.
According to the sources at ZEE TV , this is being done on public demand . A formal announcement regarding this will be made in the show scheduled to be telecast on Friday .
According to the VP of ZEE TV Mr Ashish kaul , "Since the last few weeks , there has been a tremendous demand from fans all over the counrty to bring back the eliminated contestants.
He says : "People are sending emails and sms'es in lakhs complaining that some exceptionally talented singers have been eliminated .Now they are demanding to bring these singers back to the show .This is what made zeetv give them another chance "
The number of such candidates is 24 . Ashish further adds that it wud be decided on friday tht how many contestants shud be called back and what shud be the criteria for calling them again .
When asked what is the logic behind testing some singers again which have already been tested by judges and audience before , ashish says " We are doing this jsut because of public demand .This is the decision of the public , not ours"
Saregama series ends in 2 weeks time from now . One of the two (Vineet or Debojit will be declared the winner. After this series is over , the 24 previously eliminated contestants will be called back again . They will then slog out again for the title .
Actually this is an effort by ZEE TV to cash on the tremendous popularity of the show . In the last 4 weeks , saregamapa's total TRP was 3.53 , which is greater than what Son'y's Indian Idol could manage in the same period .
Contestants who have sung in the films or have a chance in forthcoming films :
1)Nihira Joshi : banti aur babli's song dhadak dhadak along with sunidhi chauhan
2) HIMANI : in the film 'Chingari' picturised on Sushmita sen.
2) HEMA CHANDRA : Abhishek Bachhan's film 'ALAG' .Also he'll be singing for mukta arts..
4)Vineet :zayed Khan's film rocky .
