HR: Chaalis lakh votes mein se Debojit ko saat ya aath lakh to milne hi wale hain. Woh koi zyada nahin hain.

Lets see: 8 lakhs out of 40 are not a large number of votes when there are three contestants in the fray? So why did Hema and Vinit get way fewer % votes from the East? Unko kyon nahin "milne hi waale they"? How about Vinit and Debo's vote count from the South?

Now for Aadeshji: Mere khayal se hamein West Zone ke basis par result dekhna chahiye. That is fair.

Lets do the math. My protege is last when counting the other three zones. So he has to be in top two anyway from West to even have a chance. Lets make his chances better by starting the score from zero. How fair I sound when I say this.

Dont you just love these guys?

I dont agree with what Aadesh shreevastav said about considering only West zone votes. This should have been announced before the contest where all three boys had to sing that only west zone will be considered. What about those people who has spent lot of money from their pocket to vote for their favorite contestants? Will it be fair with them to consider only neutral zone votes.

This is nothing against Hemu..I liked him a lot, but AS wanted the West Zone votes only, since that would have been beneficial and an advantage for his candidate. After all Madhya Pradesh is AS's home state and it falls in the West Zone on saragamapa. I am sure this has certainly factored in the voting process. I can't imagine why, but there must be some folks in MP that like AS so they must have voted along party lines.

Nice try AS, but sorry no can do! You are a real slimeball, and should have been run out of Challenge 2005 a long time ago.

yaar, i had a much better impression of shaan b4 2005c started. seemed like a humble down-to-earth guy, good singer, good person n all that. but now, am starting to feel he's just a mindless buffoon parroting stuff that's been written 4 him. doesnt he realize he is aprty to all the regional crap? of course, he might be doing so with full knowledge and intent, but that wld make him out to be worse n i dont want to go there. wld have expected more from someone who's come up the hard way. want our old shaan back!!!

I don't think Shaan was that bad. Since he is the conductor of the show he is bound to the script. But he did give his own opinion few times during this zonal controversy and argued with AS and HR. Although it seems that Hemu was his favourite singer he was rightly in favour of Debu during the walk-out drama.

Shaan is a through gentleman. I not only feel sorry for him but totally empathize with him since he has inadvertently got caught between the rock and the heart place on many occasions. Yet he has stayed neutral and kept his composure. Anyone else would have walked away. If he is staunchly adhering to the scripted material I don't blame him. This show is just a short stint for him. Singing is his passion and his livelihood. He cannot afford to piss off the composers altogether even if they are self-centered jackasses and nail shut his own coffin. Haven't you noticed the viciousness that AS and HR have displayed time and again. They can destroy his career badmouthing him in that small Bollywood community. The real Catch 22 is for Shaan and Shaan alone. 😔

I really dont think shaan has much to do with this whole drama..hes doing his job, and as "bunbutt_too" said, its these people that are giving him a chance to sing for them, and its these people that can easily make or completely break his career..he's only doing what he has to do, which is to impress each and every mentor as many times as he can

Shaan shifts from anchor to judge

Clashes with Himesh Reshammiya over the latter's protege

Subhash K Jha

Yet another histrionic-packed episode of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa will unravel this
Friday. At the penultimate-finale recording of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Shaan who
temporarily switched roles from anchor to judge, finds himself facing an
angry resident-judge when Shaan gave only 9 out of 10 marks to Himesh
Reshammiya's star-contestant Vinit.

The trouble started when Shaan asked Vinit to sing Reshammiya's
composition 'Nikkama' from the film Kya Dil Ne Kahaa, originally sung by
Shaan himself. When the points were given, Vinit's mentor argued that it
was his own composition and he was in a better position to know the
finer nuances of the song.

"Shaan argued mildly and averted what could've been another major
confrontation, and that too in front of our star-judges Kunal Ganjawala,
Shreya Ghosal and Sunidhi Chauhan," says producer-director Gajendra
Singh.

The other highlights include star guest Sunidhi Chauhan who will be
singing with the two finalists Debojit and Vinit for Anu Malik's 'Ding
dong'. At the end of the show she sings 'Ruki ruki si zindagi' with Vinit. "I
never felt that I was singing with a newcomer. Being there with both these
finalists was fun. I think both the singers are very good. But I like Vinit's
self-confidence," said Sunidhi.

While the Friday episode, hosted by Shaan and veejay Sophia (who joins in
as guest anchor) is replete with action, the episode on the previous night
(Thursday) has its own share of surprises.

Although one of the invitees Vishal-Shekhar stayed away from the guest-
composers' special segment, Shantanu Moitra, Pritam and Sandesh
Shandilya had a great time. Some of the songs the contestants rendered
for these composers included 'Resham si', 'Halka halka', 'Yeh hawayen',
'Piyu bole', among the many.

The finalists have been equally moved by these episodes. "The last two
recordings have been very emotional for us," said Debojit. "It was our last
performance on stage and I was satisfied with my singing which is rare.
Especially when Pritamji said there was no trace of a Bengali accent in my
singing, or when Shantanu Moitraji said that I sang 'Piyu bole' in my own
distinct style, my day was made. Almost all the judges awarded me full
marks."

Vinit added, "I've already sung a duet with Sunidhi-didi in the film Rocky
for Himesh-ji. So I wasn't nervous singing with her. More so, none of the
judges whether a Kunal Ganjawalaji or Shreya Ghosal ever let me or
Debojit feel like newcomers. It was very encouraging."

confrontation in the presence of the other guest judges on the show" –

Plus isn't the West zone dominated by Hindi speakers? It seems that Vinit
has the edge. Plus there is Gujrat where HR and ID are both from (pls
clarify)

It seems like the definition of a neutral zone is a zone where Vinit has an
edge.
