Yes. He was. My mother (a classically trained singer) was over and we
both listened to it and she caught several besura places as well (flat in
certain areas). There were alo very audible breaths and the resulting
missteps in taal. That song is not per se difficult (come on it is a Kumar
Sanu song!) except for some quick jumping between notes but withtout
breath control it falls flat. But in the seocnd half he did do an admirable
job in certain areas. To his credit he did put a lot of feeling into the song
as did Kumar Sanu -- I do love the song.
But don't take our word for it. When HR shamelessly asked SG to give a
judgment, SG refused and offered the following analysis: The singing of a
song requires many elements including sur, taal, expression and you
really gave good expression.
Contrast that with SG's comment on Chandu's singing of Ramta Jogi. You
sang Jogi 20 differernt ways and Sukwindher should be a little worried
about you.
