Are we listening 2 real singers?

It's really very sad that SAREGAMAPA is converted into a drama rather than a singing competition,too many jhagdas and all that.We r only thinking and praising the contestants now,just hear the old saregama songs and u'll not regret,again u'll not miss Rafi,lata,Asha,and Hemant kumar.They r so good that they have wholly maintained that tempo & u can't tell that Mohd Wakil was best or Parthiv or Mukund.Again u cannot tell whether Bela was the best or Sanjeevani or Sudeshna.It was even more tough competition then.Choosing among them was even more difficult than now,and all the renowned and experiences judges still gave us the best one,but we India cannot decide the right one,the best ones went away,shame on the people &also Saregamapa because they've made this system.

Eveyone is thinking that whether Nihira will succeed or not?whether Vinit will do it?Hemachandra-oh he's in MUKTA ARTS now,but no one thought even once that why we r not listening Sanjeevani songs anymore?Why none of them got a chance,even when they were and also r better than all of them now?

Oho- perhaps they didn't show latkas & jhatkas.They r gems and Mohd Wakil is still singing one Qawali song in Main hoon na,where even we don't hear which one is he?

Don't u think,they all deserved even better than all?

This is one of the things public voting offers....it doesnt provide you better singers but it make stars out of less than ordinary singers. Abhilash said that correctly in the end we are the losers...see now we have to tolerate a lot of vinit remixes, vinit unplugged and vinit folkish..
Mohd Vakil's album kasak was n times better than any public voted reality show winners including sana, sawant and tauqeer and also all of them put together but look at the poll for best finalist started by abhi where does he stand...people dont really want to listen to good music now. Hariji would chose a singer who can sing better classical songs better...but where are the classical songs today in movies. all we have is howling instead of an alaap.
See vinit is a star now...mallika sherawat is a star now...emran hashmi is a star now..so do you really need talent to succeed... 😕
So just listen to good old everlasting songs and dont forget to say "LEST RACK" before putting your TV on mute when these people show up on TV...

ruby ,I think you should write another post with a diff title. I too missed this one ,I hope you have seen raghav64 posts and listened to vakil,mukund and others.I am huge fan of md vakil.now I am in love with hems dulcet voice.the videos online posted doesnt quite do justice to his voice.should be watched on the telly.

Anyway, I agree with your views. There are some gems, and unfortunately it takes more than music for them to keep shining..If Nihira or Hemu dont keep promoting themselves at this stage, they would just vanish in to thin air.

This is how life is, and always been. But then, there are people who dont care to be "famous" or "heard". Popularity does not mean they are good. It just means that they have lines their stars..
