Hey,Satyajit Ray never directed hundred films in a yr,he has also directed 1 or two in a yr,then according to u only he's ordinary,i call him the top one with Quality movies.😊

Ray was an international figuire from his very first movie. Not only in outside Bengal, but his movies were very famous outside India too.
ARR first and only international project was super flop in NY, moderate in London.

ARR already has noticed Hema, Nihira & Himani..
One of the forum members who doesnt write anymore but is closely related to some established South Indian singers, told me this through mail.

Good news! He noticed Naresh Iyer from Super Singer and gave him four songs of Rang De Basanti!

parthaji put it correctly. It wasn't marketed well. Americans are more allergic to musicals than the Europeans.

ARR has scored the background music for Lord of the Rings III. What more do you want?

Firstly, I am happy that there is such a nice discussion going on abt ARR. I am a fan of his personally. However, I believe that music is very subjective. One mans music is another mans noise. So its difficult for such a large and diverse group of people to agree about a single thing. So, to each his own...

And now to adwarakanath. Can you answer Swastika's qn on 'Nahin Samne' please. I also want to know. I am also a big fan of that song. Would love to hear the 'original' version. And, just to correct you, ARR has not given music to LoTR3. But, he was supposed to be involved in 'LoTR the musical'. Haven't heard much about that yet. So I wait.... 😊

By the way people, have you heard ARR's Between heaven and Earth?? Its the soundtrack for the Chinese movie that he gave music for. Its amazing. And its so different... Good stuff...

ARR hasn't given music to LOTR 3? Okay, I goofed there too. I certainly had heard his name in connection with LOTR.

Sorry for the bloopers.

ARR has given the music for LOTR the theater version along with the Finnish band Varttina. This is billed as the most expensive theater play ever (27MM USD).

This was previewed in Toronto this Saturday. The full public version starts in March.

The people who have seen the preview are raving about the show.

Until now I was not so impressed by ARR. I mean I knew he had talent but did not like the way he went overboard with instrumentation. But his "naina neer bahaaye" from 'Water' has moved me. Please listen to it at http://www.musicindiaonline.com/l/17/s/movie_name.7871/

I think he has proved his knowledge of classical music with this. Hope to see more compositions like this in future.
