Brilliantly written, Sinhaji!

Being in the same raga can be a cause of it sounding similar. Though some have used that defense and made almost photocopies of parts or full songs (one song in Baazi copied Beethoven's Fur Elise.)

I guess imitation is a form of flattery for the original artists.

Lift Karade! Lift Karade! Bump Karade! Yea! 😆

bump

interesting topic. i have been wondering how come this thing never came up here.

getting inspired by a tune and using it seems fine to me but if u copy an entire song then def isnt good and if u do copy then do openly give credit to the original singer/md like they did with the hindi version of "Pretty Woman".

i remember in hte movie 'Pyaar toh hona hi tha" theres a tune that keeps coming in thre background all the time and it sounded so nice but then i found out that its a from a Bryan Adams song.

i remember ravindra jain(correct me if i am wrong) has done msuic for malayalam films too and there are a few songs which exact same,he was also the hindi MD. i used to think someone copied it but no he copied himself or used his own creations.

But why are Anu Malik and HR at top right now if they are nothing but copycats!!! Do people like 'bad' music or are the 'good' music directors out of touch and alienated from the Indian public.

just heard a interview of Hr on etc tv..see the brilliance of this man

1. he has 35 movies on hand...(what a joke)
2. he said his all songs on his new album ( aap ka surroor) are RAGA based. CAn any one please justify that as what ragas are they based on?

3. HE said , according to survey , all the albums are bought people, below 25 years... ( thats why all his albums are hit as they have all dhin chak music , i would say only dhin chak and no music and all our young crowds are going ga ga over it..wake up guys)

4. he said i am very level headed( yes u are , the people who dont get emotional are the most wicked ones as nothing can get through their conscience)

boss, i can't help it,i hate HR to the core of my heart , but all being said and done he is goign to be very successful... sorry to say but folks that is the truth......this shows that where the young generation are going...

i read in the forum , rafi ji has become rafi dude..what more can we expect ?
