hey adwarakanath...i don't know why you got offended ...i was saying Rafi has nothing to do with bass guitars cause LP used it not Rafi...If you want to praise than praise LP not Rafi...I probably know more about Bass guitars, cos I play one...and I love RD burman's bass...and dun tell me about old film music...when I was plaing songs you were "susuing in the kacha".. Ten years ago you were just 8 years old. Don't presume everything..Anyway whats wrong if I had criticised Md Rafi???

Dwarkanathji,

Maine socha tha you are a young kid who "susued in Diapers", but apparently you were born before the advent of diapers......and please show some respect to the Tansen of Bass guitar here.

Thanks for reading. i was sure people would love to read about him.
A friend of my father was lucky to meet him at Delhi airport. he had returned after a long flight but was still nice enough to exchange pleasantries and actually sing for some of the airport employees while waiting for an onward flight. Needless to say, a great man!!

Ya,riyaz by waking up in morning is necessary for a flowing & flawless gala, surs come straight then, otherwise then happen to shake or breathing problems r there😊

Someone has heard Nihira singing without music & Himani doing the same thing?Nihira's voice shows riyaz, but Himani's breathing was heard in the mike, that should not be there.

No one in today's time would dream of getting up at 3 AM to do riyaaz. That's why, they're weaker singers. Heard them live in concert? Many of them go besura.

Vineet's fans won't turn up here. They wouldn't even know the Ra of Rafi 😉 😉

I think the Bear avatar looks cool. Bulba is after "Taras Bulba" a character in a novel written by the Ukrainian/Russian writer Mykola Gogol.

I read this interview only NOW when Soulsoup informed me about the compiling of musical threads. What an eyeopener about the life and times of India's greatest male playback singer. I used to think that Rafi's wife must be the most blessed woman in the world, who would wake up to Rafi whispering "Ai husn zara jaag tujhe ishq jagaaye" into her ears or "Abhi na jaao chod kar", when she went to do the household chores! But the poor lady says she had been brought up not to like music and that she never discussed music with him!

To think that Rafi infused his voice with all that romance, yearning, longing despite leading such an ordinary, routine life!
