I voted Yes, that is in favour of the three contestants walking out. I appreciate the tone of this thread and the call for serious discusison and rational debate, so let me explain that vote clearly.

What I support is not the walkout as such but the contestant's right to do that if they feel that this is what they must do.
I have been following SRGMP for so many years now and really have loved its tone. This particular season was markedly different - there were good singers as usual but the respectful decent tone was spoilt by squabbling mentors who frequently argued and lambasted each other. I remember quite a few judges were very shocked.

Anyway, as the show went on the voting became very significant. I don't approve of people asking for votes on the basis of ANYTHING OTHER THAN SINGING - no matter who does the asking - Debo or Hemachandra.

These people are singers and they KNOW who sings how well and the idea is for the best singer to win. So we need basic honesty here. For instance Himani always says "Agar mera gaana achcha laga to please vote kijiye" I appreciate that very much.

If Debo had been the best singer I would have voted for him. I'm from the south but I vote more for Himani because I think she's the most complete performer of them all. I expect that everyone should vote on that basis.
Unfortunately with all tis hype created by the show, the mentors, and the participants - one region has outvoted the rest of the nation. Their loyalty to their man has exceeded their musical judgement. Which may be democracy but still something I don't like because music suffers in the bargain.
About the walkout: 'The show must go on' is a principle in the show business, I appreciate that but there are bigger things than this show and that is each person's integrity to themselves.
My feeling is the three who walked out also felt this very strongly. They may eventually come back and wind up the show, but they registered their protest against this kind of bias - and I support that.

Dont u think this could have been done when Nihira was voted out? .. this is pure n simple way of crying foul when water is under ur feet and yes Vinit is big fool for going along with those two. question here isnt if debo is good singer. its abt who gets most votes n those three must learn that they r not Best till one of them wins and by doing this they will lose lots of vote. wat if debo comes first again next week? would they walk out again n creat same scene? Why are AS n HR so uptight now? do they want best person to win ur their own candidate to win? If we ask any music guru abt the best of last 11 8 out of 11 would say Nihira but this is the formate of the show n HR AS should shut up n ;et people do the judging... why r tyhe all (mentors) still in the show? their work is done n they should be watching show from home n let this young kids fight it out.

Yeah excellent topic, vijay! Your stand on 1person 1vote is very rational...If that was the case, Debu would not have been in the show right now! Only gaining Assam's votes does not mean he's a good singer! I genuinely feel sorry for Nihira as she was a fantastic and flawless singer but she had to go out cuz of Debu somehow! I too feel that public voting should come to a stop as the public does not know whom to vote and get carried away by emotional words and videos by Debu and his wife! Really, Indians are emotional fools! I don't like saying this cuz I'm an Indian too...but I'm really angered by the public's decision that Nihira should be out! Debu should have gone out if not for the alleged ULFA back up. Since Debu's in the competition, I don't think it is a fair challenge for the rest! And that's my opinion!

Hi i haven't seen the show as of yet,it is to be aired on 23rd here in US, but i have been watching it regularly and i do want to say why regional votes r an issue here now, because in the past himesh has himself asked gujrati's to vote for paresh and has spoken in gujrati.Also hemachandra is getting votes from south too. I would also like to say that the way Himmesh is supporting vinit saying wah wah at average performances too, and trying to influence people to think he is the only good singer every episode discussing his love interest building suspense saying he will reveal the name if vinit wins, is so childish and obvious.
As for aadesh that man needs to learn to be less jealous of good singers from other gharanas and learn to applaude when it is due.

So true and well said... i use think HR was decent mentor but since last month he has bored whole india and people around world wacthing this show by bullshit abt Vinit's love...who cares? i remember he use to fight most with AS and JL n now he is sucking AS just to make vinit a winner... iexpected all menotrs to say something abt the voting formate when Nihira was voted out but u know...? they were relieved to see Nihira go coz with her being there none of there particpant could have won, may be Hema had chance and i still think if this is really abt good singing then Hema is best of remaining 3. AS never been nice to any other candidates but his n may be JL's thats only coz they r family. ID was only decent menotr of all. HR is upset abt ID's crying for exit of Nihira...Did he forget he bored us for 3 months after his Ashiwarya was gone.. damn he forgets so fast

I watched the show today in the US (perhaps the last one in India). Very clearly the other judges were against Debo. Inside information is that before the contest, Aadesh Shrivatsav comes up to Debo and tells him "I will see how you get more than 3 today."

So let us not get carried away. Debo tried a very difficult song and was pretty good in that. It is a way of getting back at unfair judges.

Besides the rule of the game is number of votes from the public. This is also how it happens in the US with American Idol. And in there Debo gets the most number of votes, fair and square.

There was one outright winner - Nihira. She is gone.

On the basis of the stated rules of the game, may the best person win. I will vote for Debojit.

Guys.... It was already decided that this program will choose winner by Public voting. Then why the hell other three participants have walked out.

If Himani, Hema and Vinit's people are not supporting them, then it's their luck. They have no right to walk out of program like this.

i think it was right on their part 2 move out coz dey really deserve 2 get more votes than debo
