I'm in the US and just saw SRGMP, the episode where Rajiv gets eliminated. I want to first comment on the others. As usual, Nihira, Himani, Vinit, Hema, and Debojit sang very well. I didn't like Paresh's singing all that much and he messed up the lyrics. He kept saying "Aye mere dil thu gaya-ah", isn't it "Aye mere dil thu gaye ja"? Regarding the mentors, it seemed to me like they're just plain bored now and don't even care who wins. All three looked disinterested in what was going on.
Before the decision of who was getting eliminated was announced and Ujjaini, Twinkle, and Rajiv sang their songs, I felt that twinkle and Ujjjaini both didn't sing well today. They seemed off, sur was not great, and perhaps they were worried about having gotten yellow. Poor Rajiv (who probably thought being popular with the public would save him again)actiually sang pretty well today compared to past performances. Since I read the update here and knew he was going, I felt really sorry for him and thought, how ironic, he's actually singing decently today and he has to leave. I felt very bad for him when they were flashing the Chamba footage on the screen and he as crying. I agree that he was the weakest contestant but for someone with no training he's not a bad singer. He's certainly a lot better than most people with no vocal or musical training. He is not better than Sharib or Aishwarya or many others but he's not completely besura either. Still, someone had to go and like this each week until the end tensions will mount and emotions will fly. I personally cannot wish ill of anyone. I'm a sensitive person and whenever someone gets eliminated it's heartbreaking. I was bawling when Sharib got ousted but I also cried when Rakhtima and Swananda were voted out even though they were never my favorites. I admire Rajiv for entering this contest and coming this far. Seeing him cry today made tears come to my eyes too. I really hope that his dream of becoming a singer comes true one day. No, nobody bent over backwards to give him songs, nobody said they would sell their house for him, and perhaps he has a long road of training and riyaz ahead of him before he can even think about playback singing but the poor guy has a dream just like all the others do and it's my sincere hope that God helps him become what he wants to in life. So farewell Rajiv and good luck to you!
