Was wajid rite?

When he said sugandha changes her voice texture... I think somewhere he was rite but thn ya no doubts she is a good singer but i do feel she does try to copy the same voice... Cuz yesterday she was singin Kajare kajare by Alisha .. She sounded like Alisha... Wen she sings Sunidhi's songs she sounds like her... I really wana knw wats her voice like...

The whole point of playback singing is to sound like someone else, in most cases, the actor who you are singing for. So its good thing to be able to throw your voice in as many ways as possible. Other than the background type of songs, a playback singer never sings in his own voice. Since in a competition you are not singing an original, the best you can do if you have the talent is to be able to mimic the original song as best as possible. It is a problem if you can only mimic the singing of one particular singer because that indicates that you are limited. But if you can sing like 10-15 different singers that person imo is perfect material for playback singing. That doesn't mean a person with a strong voice of his/her own won't succeed.But that will be reserved for a special niche type singing.

immitating is not a crime.

a child learns his first steps by watching others and following in their footsteps and displays whatever she/he has seen

but on the evolutionary scale the position of an artist who can compose and improvise on the work of others and leave her stamp of individuality on it is much MUCH higher

how many knew that when a r rehman said sniti's pitching was all over the place that she had actually improvised on the original song and sung her version of it and the jumpy pitching was intentional
how many noticed that shy laugh a r let go before starting to comment

she DARED to improvise on the works of maestros !!

then they swooped down on her like vultures

but she stood her ground

her belief in herself has brought her this far

and she has a loooong way to go

I think only very versatile singers can sing like different artistes. Suganda is great.

Yeah, they are enough of them doing fantastic stage shows.👏

Sugandha is a superb singer, and she sang beautifully, I dont agree with wajid atall, but I really agree with whatever Vishal said in defense :)

I used to do that too, but you gotta train yourself to not do that.

But Vishal also said it is a plus point! =)

wajid did tit for tat. this was reply to vishal comment who said to rini when she sang sajna ve sajna to sing in her own voice. the whole song she sang in one voice. now hisab barabar. now why vishal is defending and giving contradictory statement which suits him and his contestant. thats called double standard!!!!!!!!!!! whatever may be the reasons, now my favoirite is sugandhha, rini will always be my favourite.
