We all know this song as the song that made Shaan famous. It was from his own album, and was one of the biggest album hits, and 1st time making Shaan known across the industry. Perfect for the round!

9 out of 10! What a nice song by Shaan! A perfect debut!👏 Pitching in place, his tune changing with the tone of the lyrics...wonderful, no complaints except that the beauty of Shaan's voice was ruined by the doctoring of the song, which made the song a bit annoying. But, leave it upto Shaan to beautify any song regardless of the difficulty.

Waheguru what a lovely song and a most mellow voice. He really makes it so enjoyable to listen.

btw was Tanha dil he's debut song?? but he had started singing much before, songs like mussu mussu hassi in a dino morya movie which released much before this album, right?

Actually that film released in 99, and this album released in 98. So he sang this song before the film. But either way, THIS was his break-through moment. 😉

Lets get it straight, this is a very convectional track with nothing new in terms of tune and lyrics.
BUT at the end of the day, leave it to shaan with singing it so naturally that you get addicted to it. There is something in this track that you get into it the moment you listen to it from the second line, His change in 0.25 scale and voice modulation is just superb. He sings in one breath, then changes the pitch on another, than again changes to lower scale and this without letting a casual listener know. This is just outstanding.

The mood of the track gels well with his bubbly and cheerful voice and correct expressions pitched with immense tonal quality and feel, perfect in sync with the tempo requirements and to top it all, the voice. Its this perfect combination that has made this indipop track a huge hit, something that today's non film albums struggle to do so.

9/10. A superb rendition.

I agree Shaan is very gifted in handling such songs.
