Another point is that you may try using linux. Nothing is 100% secure, but I dont think your linux desktop will catch a virus.

In general don't download programs, attachments etc from untrusted websites and emails.

Thanks, Karan. :) Actually, my brother was watching a movie online on one of those crazy sites when it crashed. I had recently bought an external hard drive to back things up because the desktop had been acting up, and only half the things were backed up onto the external hard drive. Now I'm not sure if the virus was already on the computer or if it was because of that one site. Yeah, I needed something yesterday so I had hooked up the external drive to my laptop, but I'll try my best to refrain from that until I do a virus scan on all that and whatnot. *sigh*

Thanks for everyone's help. At least I have my laptop. :) My brother's jealous. But that's what he gets for not listening to me.

I don't really use Linux. Due to convenience I use Windows. I installed Ubuntu on my old laptop to refurbish it. But do not use it. My netbook and PC are Windows.

In recent times touchwood I have not crashed my computers for over two years now. I used to crash it a lot when I used to use Kazaa and Limewire. I do not use those anymore.

Although, I have managed to crash my computer at work twice. 😆

Honestly, I'm awfully bored today. My sister is hosting a wedding shower for her friend and I've just been sulking around in my room. Why is no one around when I am bored? Everyone is active like Krakatoa on steroids when I have work. 😡

I'm bored too. I'm in a weird mood, like where I am too much at ease. I need to be worried, or stressed about something. It doesn't seem normal this way.

Yes, I am aware that I'm highly OCD. :)

hmmmm it could be because of that website. Viruses can come from untrusted websites.
