Orthodox ..what chitty means is to vote on parameters that are related to music ..sometimes (though it is not very appropriate) it is ok even if it is like "I like it when he sings" etc. But what chitty and I and any reasonable person do not want in such highly visible competitions is that "let us vote to debo coz he looks chweeeeet ..or to vineet coz he has crooked tooth ..or to someone coz he is from a tribal area or that Sanjay Leela hugged someone etc." Got it buddy? Anyway, on a separate note I am curious to know what at all you look in any leader in India before you voted for him? It feels good to know there is some quality you would like to look at before you voted.

This is what confused me too, Priti. If its the same guy, it's good to know that he's still pursuing a career in music...

Please vote for female participants. When it comes to competitions, we seem to be chauvinistic and voting out female contestants even if they are better. This is the reason why we had a male Indian Idol and not Prajakta
Shukre who had a golden voice.I feel that one of the contestants out of Nihira,Ujjaini,Twinkle and Himani need to win in the Challenge 2005.

Thanks for the insight critical!
I hope the message has gone across all the voting people and more importantly those who have the blessings to know that they are not capable of voting and thus quit. Liking (and of course voting) is relative. One's upbringing, learning, society and many such things govern one's liking. This is the tragedy of human psyche, dear critical, that no such things as 'unbiased verdict' exists, though the degree may vary. And it is the irony of this whole business of voting that I was trying to bring to fore. So that, the shock for at least the readers of these lines may be cushioned when they get the result brought forth by common people like me, who don't have as much grasp on music as on the keypad of phones. So, sad though it may be, but it is going to happen anyway that the voted winner is going to contain as much flaws as are inherent in the institution of democracy itself. My loving advice to all concerned is 'just chill out'.
May you not take it as personal but the truth is that your view that debojit is chweet and vinit has got a crooked tooth is your set of biases. For debojit's detractors he is a mere simpleton with just ok voice and for vinit's fans he is a prince charming.
One more (you may call it a reasonable deduction) thing is the bias is seen more on the stage itself. The mind game being played by the mentors themselves is what makes me a bit more sceptical. Though there are a lot of instances I would quote just one. Now, vinit is going to win his love with the mercy of our votes; his marriage hinges upon his becoming the challenge winner; he is the expectation of his love, lovelife and may be the kids the marriage would result.....I think there is no need for any more elaboration of the subject. It was just in a matter of fact manner and showing what is -- as it is. One more thing, I stand by every word of mine -- then , now and ever after.
About the quality of leader I look for when I vote: I am on a lookout for an autocrat. Why? Some other time.
Hope to have your valuable comments to open one more window for my learning mind.

It is a common sense knowledge that there are always personal biases but still one should try to decide on the basis of certain objective parameters.

Adding to your: 'there are always personal biases', but still ... this but still is equipping not only the 'one' but a hell of one's to add up to the sea of biases so as to make the decision a dud. Here, everybody (see the forum, and including me) is an authority on a subject so pious as music. This sacred subject bestows the one with a bowed head. Everyone is resorting to logics and not the music --complete in itself. It is something that pays with the jubilation associated, accolades won and ecstacy within it and not the one crore contract; the career; profession; number of copies sold; marriage of a contestant hinged upon votes; another contestant's return to motherland hinged upon winning; or the winner of the challenge to move around in the gifted car as a diva. For, a mere mortal like me it seems to be ok to go against debojit, nihira or any one of the other contestants. But, it becomes hard to swallow when the people who have their lives weaved around music and perched on the position as sacred as to be judges for music, which is beyond judgement display their flaws openly, broadcasted and brought to our living rooms disrobed, robbed in all its vulgarity.

The result: The very much objective voting of yours, with the losing of your voted contestant, just because of the bias of my judgement, is bound to become subjective. Then you will understand the futility of the business (yes business for the channel and mobile companies) of exploitation by invading through the privacy of your homes and robbing you of your reason......

I may not be that right but still I believe, like me everyone else can agree with the decisions of people who have through their sweat in the vast field of indian classical earned a place still unchallenged. There are many. They can decide better than me at least (in the absence I am voting at full speed. Stop me!). The invitation to the likes of Pt. Jasraj to guide these kids and bless bon voyage at the onset of the journey to the endless ocean of music has been a good example. Spare me (read the masses) to malign the name of music. Let me be saved from this sin. You may have different prayers. For both, Amen!😊

just saw Hema chandra's saathiya song and it was amaizing performance. Public should atleast realize now what is good singing and what is the best singing(saathiya's)

What if Vinit sings the same song ??. and where does he stand.

Its still a sad point that Hema got yellow for the same song. Its not he got the yellow but its the soul of singing got Yellow.

God bless Hema and Vote for Hema.

From Kaasu

Ujjaini was judged unfairly by the mentors. She deserves more. Lets see what public decides. Nihira was outstanding. She is exceptional and a cut above the rest. The girls are performing much better than the boys. Hema is good , but not great. Vinit rocks. Paresh is overrated. Twinkle is better than Paresh.
