The mentors did a little too much of butter polishing but i don't think it has got to do with the fact that he is powerful or not..i think they would have done the same if Aamir or shahrukh was there....Salman is suppose to be really helpful and a kind person (inspite of his black buck and car accident- it was not driving on the crowd but on pavement).

But lately i think SGMP is certainly detiorating because they are trying to compete with FG and II...and so they make their singers dance and sing and act...which is pretty pathetic most of the time.

i totally agree with you

I agree with you Salman's presence did take away the attention of the contestants but it was fun watching him have fun. It was also nice to watch for once someone telling the contestants what a good job they are doing. With the other judges, they bring the contestants to tears, I know they can't help it but I hate to watch it. I loved the show, Salman made the contestants feel comfortable around him, and made the show more enjoyable.

After watching re-runs of II one,I did not like the show at all. I think it is a poor copy of American Idol. The stage was very small, the ambience just O.K. ,the judges looked like they were trying very hard to imitate the format of AI very closely and doing a poor job of it. Abhijit Sawant has a sweet voice, but really nothing great to write home about.I am disappointed that Sa Re Ga Ma is trying some of the same tricks. It has definitely shifted the attention away from singing to performance,as is evident on this forum. Very few people are talking about Nihira, and the hot contenders seem to be Himani and Twinkle. Atleast on the edited show that we see here, more face time is given to them ,than to Nihira. My experience has been that this will affect Nihira's chances ,as with most people,it is out of sight, out of mind. Also, Nihira winning the green card with her first attempt every time may have hurt rather than helped her,as the general public saw her a lot less often on their screen. She has a lot less instant face recognition than say Himani or Twinkle or Raktima, and people tend to bond with what is more familiar to them.

Like most of you, i totally hate this concept of performance and public voting. Talented singers act in such weird manner on stage. Aishwarya singing amidst balloons, and in that shady get-up took away all the attention from his soulful singing. ujjaini (who had shocked everyone with the "Black" song) concentrated more on her steps than her sur..... It's all about hype and less about talent now

i don't know why they are giving pressure on performance. becoz nihira does not perform. in that way she has very less chance to win. i think they should stick with one thing.. singing or performance. poor nihira.

I totally agree that after the chakravyuh round was over, the quality of the contest has really come down! I think SRGMP should not even think of competing with FG or II.. the standard of music is vast apart in both! Anyways, II wants to create Rock/Pop stars (I dont think that Abhijit Sawant has got any film breaks as of now), while SRGMP should focus on creating good playback singers as it has already done with Shreya Ghoshal.. Why is the performance thing even coming in here... Zee organizers, please wake up and listen, we all want good music here!

btw - the other day, i was watching rahul saxena (our old SRGM winner) on 'Dus ke dus..' and just because you have to jump and dance so much there to impress the crowd, i could see that his singing had come down a lot from what he used to sing in SRGM.. aren't these programs like FG, II, DKD etc just killing the singers!! SRGMP, please do not commit the same crime!
