It is not the "ego", insecurity or immaturity of the mentors, it is more the love and the belief in their disciples that makes them go to the war, the Guru will always have a soft corner for the contestant from his gharana.
Parents can be critical, and objective, but Gurus are supportive and encouraging....this element of emotion is always discounted in most observations made.
Based on an isolated incident, it would be improper to jump to conclusion and generalise that - '4 mentors are fighting so 5 judges will also fight'.
In the same show, we have seen most of the judges, especially Pandit Shivkumar Sharma and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasya giving out their judgements fairly.
As the competition intensifies, it would be perfectly in order to provide additional decision support by way or one or more judges to ensure fairplay.
IMO, public voting can get biased due to geographical coverage of Zee network.

Once again, there is no basis for the argument that if mentors fight, judges have to fight and why should there be violence???
You are absolutely right. Isolated incidents can't dictate the behavior of the judging community and the fact that more judges could add credibility to certain tough decisions.
But Just look at you fighting with words like idiotic and what not to make a simple point, that was my reference to violence. Violence is not bloodshed, guns or physical brawl, it is one's intent/action to offend or hurt the other person.
The more diverse the panel of judges, the more diverse the opinions, the difficult it is to get a consensus. That is the reason you don't have 20 judges to decide a trial in the courtroom, you have a 12 person Jury, but one JUDGE.
The same reason you have two legs, two hands, two ears, 5 fingers....but when it comes to your decisive powers, you are ruled by one brain ( you could argue one heart) and then comes the DIL-DIMAAG dilemma😃

Thanks for your agreement.
I donot want go into your other paragraphs, because, you sent your reply while I was making final edits to my post and have no interest to get side-tracked.
Regarding the jury, that was precisely my point. When we add more judges, though they are called judges, actually their position and functioning will be that of a jury.
Instead of a two-member 'judges' team, the decision would be much fairer if there are more 'jurors' (meaning judges).
Finally, whatever we may say here, the programme directors have already decided to go for public voting. So it hardly matters, atleaset for SRGMP Challenge 2005.

For that matter nothing we say here makes any difference to the outcome of SRGMP Challenge 2005, but we say it anyway. This forum is only a pulse on what could come out of the public voting. The opinions of members in this forum is a fair representation of the sentiments of the public and it will show eventually in the final results.
Wow..... good going guys!!! I think they should avarage all the scores given by the 5 judges then give the result... how abt that 😉 😆
I think I should produce a misic competition.... that will b a perfectly balanced show! 😆
