Having listened to most of the tracks of SDM, I must say it is one of the most mediocre work of ARR I have ever come across, just proves the poor quality of Hollywood music .

Just because you are Indian and you feel that "Indian music is the best worldwide", it doesnt necessarily mean that its truee..Maybe you just never heard Amercian music, you grow up listening to hindi music and thus are more attached to it, however, there are some goood western numbers that can very well stick in your head.. Most of the movies and music compositions made in india are a mere mirror of image of the west (plagarised).. when something is plagarised, it obviously means that the original was composition was "goood" and thus people steal the ideas/tunes..

ARR's unkown composition from flop movies are far better than most of the Hollywood junk put together, and this is because of ARR's firm grounding in Indian classical and equal understanding of Western nuances.

Wow. just where does one come up with such nuisance..

If you are talking about Western classical I would accept the high quality and work of several stalwarts who have left behind vast treasure to cherish, but coming to the current music of Hollywood only word which would summate is TRASH/JUNK. ARR's most mediocre composition (like in SDM) would easily score over them. As a matter of fact Hindustani classical is far too complicated and evolved for ordinary people in West.

Everything western is bad and everything Indian is good - happy now! Can we, the lesser mortals and sena of kaansens, revel in the glory SDM brought to ARR or even that is not tolerable by the Taansens?

Hadd hoti hai her cheez ki! If one is so ashamed about rest of the world getting to see the face of India that comprises close to 80% of India then it's their problem - not the world's. It beats me when I see some hell bent on making it everyone else's problem!

As far as ARR winning this award for his mediocre composition - well, his "mediocre" composition happens to be in a brilliant film and happnes to be the best among all those compositions that were nominated for GG this year. As simple as it can get. No rocket science here.

Awards are not absolute. Winners' work may not be their best work at that particular time but it happens to be the best liked amongst the nominated work at that particular time. How hard is this to get?

if he used his usual south indian muslim sounding tunes (no offence but imo his songs sound like a blend of both sufiani and biriyan- i mean south indian tunes, they're very good still), the americans would have given him the counterpart of bharat ratna.

GG and OSCAR are same...There is huge difference between Nominated for Best Hollywood movie VS INT"L movie....Learn to understand catagories and crieteria first.....Unsolicited advice..

I rest my case...Can't fight the evil who wants to see negative and bash West for everything....
