Thanks you guys, will listen to it. And to those who're saying that this isn't ARR's best work --- well that's the point! Its may NOT be his best work, and its getting so much recognition, imagine what how much praise his best work will get him, so many more listeners worldwide. Isn't that everyone musician's goal? To reach as many hearts as possible with his music?

Geez, why are you scared of me? 😆 I'm not mad, in fact I agree with you. One of his lesser works is greater than all the Hollywood tracks. Then shouldn't one his best work so far have hit the world charts? But it didn't, because it was exclusively kept in Bollywood. Get what I'm saying? 😛

There is simily in two cases ((GG vs Oscar) and this is not apple vs orange comparison, it is interesting to see people dismissing comments from Amitabh Bachchan, Mani Ratnam, Kamal Hassan about Oscar, it only exposes the duplicity. Of course AB and others don't understand about these awards which people on IF do. Anyway I will continue to support statements by these (and other) stalwarts who have entertained poor people of India since time immemorable.
ARR's unkown composition from flop movies are far better than most of the Hollywood junk put together, and this is because of ARR's firm grounding in Indian classical and equal understanding of Western nuances.

yes....u're right....ARR gives real good compositions....the one which he received this award for is not his best work though..but...it was the best from all the other nominees...and that is why he got the award....he didn't get it coz it was his best work......but coz it was the best from the selected nominees.......and this award means that his compositions are also exposed to the west, which means that bollywood will get more recognition in the west.........so..what's the problem with ARR receiving this award?

Honeslty I am a navie when it comes to Hollywodd movies, but I don't believe that we should go into mourning if we don't get these awards. Actually I doubt if jury deciding about these awards have ample understanding of Indian culture around which many of our movie script revolves. For example in Bandini the heroine has a choice of chosing between a doctor and another guy with whom she will will only suffer. Yet she goes for the second one, I really doubt if the jury can understand the reason behind (now Bandini was never sent for nomination, but when I saw it for the first time I felt very disturbed).

Similarly how many people in US understand cricket (around which script of Lagaan goes) where baseball and other games are more popular.
And the news is coming in...........
