even in the olden days punjabi music was popular, like diwale dulhaniya le jainge. now don't say that it didn't had melody to it.

so Punjabi music is not always about hiphop or bhangra and tuneless music as some people claim

it has some of the best songs.

some olden days songs INDEED were in punjabi , like"main jat yamla pagla diwana" but they are just catchy, simple ccommercial tunes..

Yes Punjabi dance numbers are a hit with the younger generation. It seems fashionable to throw in a few Punjabi phrases in most songs.

punjabi songs are famous for their beats it's true, they are loud in a sense that they make people tap on their feets whenever listening to punjabi songs....it's about enjoying the music, having fun with the song! this is what people lack in busy life so no doubt they will become popular....

To my mind most Punjabis are very open and friendly so this nature is also reflected in the Punjabi music. Just my guess with no scientific basis.
