Even though I like udit narayan alot too, still SONU NIGAM is way ahead of everybody. The youngest singer to become the highest paid singer of INdia, the only Indian singer to perform in Harvard, the singer with most number or concerts (and all super-hit concerts mind you), probably teh only singer in India today who can sing Classical, Bhangra, Slow numbers, Sad, Bangali, and many more genres.
He is also probably the only singer who regenerated the idea of being a "versatile"singer..Even Abhijeet bhatacharya, or Atif Aslam can sing lovey dovey sappy songs..thats no mountain climb..lol

Sonu after all copies Mohd Rafi and hence lacks originality which Udit has, singing wise both are equally taiyyar hence Udit is superior in my books with a better and original voice (usp now a days)
I do not agree fully with this statement,ID ji..Sonu did copy/imitate Rafi saab to start with(like Ashaji imitating Geeta dutt to start with )....Over,a period of time he has however evolved his own style..... ..Today,i find little similarity between his style and Rafi saab's style..The only similarity between both singers today is their versatility and the soul they put in their songs......,..đoc,to Uditji's credit he never even started off by imitating anyone...he was always original, which is why he has stood the test of time..He has a better voice quality than Sonu Nigam.....Wrt quality of singing wise, harkats & modulations ,soul factor, versatility and improvisations in songs ...Sonu Nigam is miles ahead........This my my opinion..Uditji's fans may disagree đ

Well, prove it đ
Just find two songs sung by both Sonu and Udit. Then compare who is better. Udit always wins. I posted two songs sung by both in the first page. Udit sang better than Sonu in both songs.

You guys are continuing an impossible discussion. Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam are two wonderful and very well established singers of the industry. But to compare them is impossible. They both have proved their worth song after song. I don't think there's one song that Udit Narayan sang that I would want Sonu Nigam to sing or vice versa. To say one singer is better than the other is taking due credit away from them. They are both terrific and have provided us with many beautiful songs. So why not continue the thread by sharing some of their wonderful songs and discussing them. Instead of trying to "prove" who's the better singer.
