just saw the beta site, the new design is definitely sleek and refreshing.
A few suggestions and some differences I found are:
1) The current design of 'likes' is much better, where the number of likes and members who liked the post is visible below the post just at glance without any more clicks. In the new design, it takes one additional click and further long scroll to see who liked the post.
And after the like is clicked, a dislike button appears, dislike can have a different meaning (in literal way), the current design of like is a toggle which is much better, may be a color change to indicate the toggle can help
2) 'My posts' and 'My Forums' is available in the current design top menu, which I could not find in the new design
also it would be good to have the new topic, new poll, reply to topic at the bottom of the page as well like in the current design
3) topic url did not work with only topic number and the 'link to a post' option has page number dependency
4) the Posted Date information is displayed in a better way in current design (light grey with smaller font), in new design it is equally prominent as the post content and hence distracting
5) the prev and next page is good, but if the current way of 1, 2,3, 4 pages can be retained in addition as one can go to the desired page without much clicks or entering page number(at least for the pages near to the current page)
6) the current emoticon set (the expressions) is too good, and a reason to retain, hope it would not be removed or replaced but added with additional emoticons.
7) The quoted reply did not show properly in new design.
Also, if the new design can show the quotes in a better way e.g. one below other (old at top) with just a line separation and the member user name displayed close to respective post/reply.
the current design shows quotes as rectangles within each other with member username at top and post at bottom end, that makes it difficult to relate username with respective post/quoted reply
8) In addition some more new changes could be
a) In My Posts, filter based on author name
b) Notify me of Quoted Replies (as screen notification) if selected and for individual post along with main post of the topic
c) changes in username to reflect in old posts (quoted posts)
d) More than 10 options in poll
