Software Upgrade Rolled back - Page 7

Wow, Vijay. Nice to hear this site is improving all the time. I have a few suggestions.

1. I think it would be nice if we could have a sub section in foreign channels on UK serials and shows😛. As many members her would like to discuss there local shows. 😉

2. IF messenger is a great idea!! 😛

3. Can we have a variety of fonts to choose from in our posts?? Currently there is only 4. 😛😛

4. Can each category of members e.g. IF dazzlers, goldies have their own section!??? 😳

My first suggestion might sound funny but please look into them.

1) Can you change the color of the IF-rockerz at the bottom of the page..yellow color is difficult to see😊

2)Could we have our delete option after each post again..its needed please😛

hey vijay, this is gr8 😃, I too have a few suggestions.
1. again PM related, the no. of PM views per page is quite low, only 15.

2. there used to be a link at the bottom for IF.in cud we have that plz, till it merges.

3. i have noticed, alot of members pulling off more than 12000 posts, i think the heirachy shud be increased.

4. I like the emicon idea, there needs to be more of them. n the IF greetings.

this is all i cud get. 😊

i got a few more, its more on the looks n user friendly,

the individual topics shud have a drop down list for jumping to another page.

generally wen prgs cum with a new version they curve the egdes n give it a metallic look. our main page looks like a calender a bit. i mean everything is in a rectangular box with straight eges. i how u get wat i mean

for clicking, maybe the topics n in the main page the boxes shud be clickable anywhere in the box. its easier at times then targeting the wording only.

and maybe the pms, topics n search cud have a sort by day or hr option too. sumtimes we remember the day but not the name of the topic. n want to catch up for the days missed, sumtimes have to go back back n 1 day has not even gone by.

Is it possible to divide each section into sub categories like 1. updates & daily videos 2. Show articles and pics 3. MOTW's 7 member interactive topics4. Current discussion 5. hot topics of the day etc...

That way one can straightaway choose the category of liking and go in instead of surfing through page after page.

Okay, I just read through every suggestion, and here's my take:

• We should have different layouts for IF so that we can change entire the look of the page to suit our fancies 😆


• I like the idea of IF Messenger a lot, but could we have something like Orkut Cute, where members can also send scraps to each other whenever they want, even when offline, apart from chatting


• We need that delete button back because many times you inadvertently post the same thing twice and then it's kinda bugging if you can't go back and delete the first one


• The PM thingy needs to be spruced up, as many people have rightly suggested. We need to be able to report abusive PMs, I'm sure many members have this problem.


• Also like the idea of having new Emoticons.


• I agree with the person who wrote that we need to have contests other than avi or sig making. I SUCK at those, so I was really happy when I saw a cookery contest was being organized 😃 We need a few more of those!

Will think of more suggestions, and edit this post later.

Some of my pm's both from inbox as well as outbox has disappeared. Anything that i received/replied between 2.30 AM until 10.30 AM Mountain time...today is missing

can they be retrieved back...or lost ?

Hi All.

We had to roll back the software upgrade as it had slowed down the servers.

There were new features and a lot of other things but speed was lacking and this is something we cannot afford.

So I will again be sitting with the programmers and have to do a lot of optimization before again attempting the software.

We didn't anticipate that it would slow it down this much.

There were many database level changes in the new version and rolling it back with the current data was a bit difficult. I am extremely sorry for the loss of PMs and Posts.
