50 characters is better but is still not apt for some posts and sections

the idea of implying this rule to only newbies is better because they make posts to increase their level and not to discuss
it is definitely irritating to go through 20 posts to look at the real comments but a simple thanks etc feels very gud when u write an ff or something else on which people cant write lengthy essays.

I completely agree with this decision of yours. It will be very helpful for us. As the writer of an FF, I feel a bit disappointed when I see people giving me comments of just two words. like anybody else, even I would like to see people putting their thoughts into their comments. Instead of giving me replies of one word or even two, it is better that there is no reply at all.

This will even keep the forum clean. So I hope to see this implemented in the near future.
It is a wonderful suggestion, hope to see it implemented soon enough!

Thanks,
Swatzz

^^ 50 characters but still "spam"?!

Everyone is entitled to have their opinion and there is nothing wrong in that.

However we never claimed that it is a full proof way to prevent spam. And this is why we have also proposed that members who still "spam" will be tagged as "spammer" by moderators.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Hi,

When we work on this we would even eliminate the QUOTE feature when counting the characters. So for that one do not need to create a new ID and quote to prove a point. And deleting that post was nothing wrong as it was just quoting another user.

Cheers,

Sorry to say.......i still dont understand the need to limit words to minimum 50 also........its like we are preparing for some exam ......"write within word limits".....sometimes there are topics and posts where u can say nothing much except "LOL"....such topics are much more on IF than any relevant discussion Topic ......rules are good to a point.......but this type of rule can actually make a person refrain from posting any comment at all ......there are many other problems on IF besides spamming ......some people have mentioned those already and i think that those problems are more important ....oh i would also like to suggest that please make people understand what "constructive criticism " means by posting an announcement.....many a times if we put forward a POV some of us are attacked saying we are bashing😊

thanku.. but the number of characters being minimum of 150, is something like telling write an essay of 150 words.. generally when we write comments on something, & not a thanku , even in that comment we have to write 150 minimum words.. hmm...i don't relate to it.. for example: when we comment in the fanfic section the comment will be of two to three lines & to keep restrictions on the number of words, i feel a bit odd with this.. & i also think when such kind of restrictions are posed may be people will tend to stop making posts... this is my opinion..no offense...

I am sorry but I don't agree with ur idea to stop spamming, sometimes u just cannot say more than lol, thank u , I agree, etc, etc, etc????This is ridiculous to impose a limit of atleast posting 150 words, its like u have to count ur words so that u r not labeled a spammer, it means I have to go on blurting stuffs even if I don't have much to say.

And I agree with Mysticwater24 that make people understand whats "constructive criticism".
