Born and bought up in US, Amit Tandon has pursued a double major in business and political science and was well on his way to study law before India came calling! Always a bathroom singer and motivated by the encouragement he received, on a holiday to India, he participated in the national wide singing contest by Channel V where he was the fifth finalist. He didn't make it to the top but Channel V offered him a job as a VJ and with them he hosted a couple of shows. Indian Idol soon came calling and he tried his hands at singing once more. Even though he couldn't make it in the top 10, he won many peoples hearts with his endearing smile and a magnetic charisma to match. Destiny perhaps had other plans for him and Sony TV offered him a job to act in their serial. It was Yeh Meri Life Hai in which he originally supposed to play a role but then Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai followed. Originally supposed to play Angad, it was Prithvi was zeroed upon due to his soft image and boyish charm.
