While speculations have been rife over who who will play the grown-up Roop on 'Roop Mard Ka Naya Swaroop', we have now been informed that the makers have zeroed in on the talented actor, Shashank Vyas. He will take over from child artiste Afaan Khan. It was reported that the actor, along with Shivin Narang and Shardul Pandit, was approached earlier for the part, but they declined it, because the character was effeminate. However, that doesn't seem to be true, as Shashank is very much a part of the project. This development comes days after the report that the track of the show will undergo a change post the time leap in mid-July. Reportedly, the makers have changed the storyline after several actors expressed their apprehensions about playing the lead character.
Roop showcases the story of an eight-year-old boy, who questions the norms of a male-dominated society that dictates how men ought to behave. "Post the time leap, Roop will be seen as a ghar jamai. The storyline will be loosely based on the lines of the Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor-starrer, 'Ki & Ka'. It will be a love triangle. A set, which will house the lead girl and her family, is being erected behind the Singhs' house," informs a source associated with the project.
