Guys yesterday Anami talked about the human dharma. I thought I will put a few points about human dharma as I understand it. Though I wont say I knew everything about Bhagavad Gita as a person who has read it, who has read its multiple translations these are some of the rules I follow in observing human dharma.
- First and the foremost we all need to accept we have all the 3 energies within us. Satva, rajo and tamo. This is very important as every human has it. People try to negate that they dont have tamo in them or rajo in them. It is not true. We have. Satva is all your noble ideals and noble actions, rajo is your aspirations to get things the right way or rather I would say using Purusharth of wealth and power the right way, tamo is your moh inside you, desires inside you which you want at any cost, doesnt matter who suffers or who dies, you simply wants it. Now it is upto us how we manage this 3 energies. Tamo can be used constructively to burn the darkness around you as a lamp and you need to learn that.
- Self is important. Self defense is important and if someone tries to harm you, you have every right to defend yourself. You should show the other cheek only and only if you have the capability to hold the hand before it can slap you. Simply showing other cheek is your weakness, holding the hand is your power. Forgiveness add value only if you have power. Money is important. It is the transactional currency that we need to live our life. Attain it through right means, use it for right causes. Most importantly money has to flow. If it doesn't flow it stagnates and no life thrives in stagnated water.
- If you dont defend yourself, if you dont stand up for the injustice that is happening to you, then you are also a adharmi. That's why sometimes the severe punishment comes for a hypocrite than a real bad person.
- If at any point of time your dharma as a wife, mother, bahu, father, son contradicts with human dharma, if any of your vachan contradicts with human dharma which is empathy then we have to chose human dharma. We might fail the battle, but for sure will win the war. For example I have a right to defend my son who is not a criminal, but if I am defending my son who is a criminal because I am mother or a father, intentionally destroying proofs, killing or maiming real victims then it is not a justifiable act. It is not and the person doing that is not a human.
- Accept the mistakes. We are humans. For our need we might unintentionally harm people. Know it happens. Ask for forgiveness from Lord. Though we will have to pay for our unintentional mistakes also, Lord's blessing will ensure impact is reduced.
- Someone might fool you. But when someone extends their hand towards you for help, take it. Cheating you is their problem, they will get for their karma. But the hand is extended to you because you have power to help. Everyone deserves a chance so please give chance. You can cautious in certain cases, but dont deny the chance and dont turn away the person without trying to help earnestly. Dont make judgement based on one incident or one person and extend the same to others.
- If someone trust you earnestly, had held your hand earnestly never let go of that hand. Go any extend to protect that trust. Trust of your loved ones is your greatest power and we need to understand it is priceless and cannot be bought by money , can be bought only through your actions, when you abide with the human dharma in the tiring circumstances.
