@nimmi I am looking it from Anami's perspective. For her mother is all wrong, she has caused even pain to her father. She doesnt know what her father thinks about her. The softness Anami felt for her father when she saw him, was based on what he said in public. If she had heard what her father told about her in private, it would have completely taken a different dimension for her. To know her father telling he doesnt think she is his own.
@chicksoup at this point Anami's whole focus point is her anger against her mother. All her actions depict this. Baldev, yes what I missed in him was the a bit of respect for his wife. I have not seen beginning episodes, but in yesterday episode I clearly missed a bit of respect a man should feel for his wife when he accused her of adultery.

Shatarupa - Who can appear in 100 forms. Here Shata means hundred and not 7. Cv's take may be different but not accurate since Shatarupa is mythological female deity.

Leaving this aside. Loved reading your post and your views. Loving the show..

I started watching for Narayani Shastri .. Known of powerful performance always. I am glad she did not disappoint.

@kavmuks Shatarupa is 100 forms as shata is 100, but saath, sat means 7 too, so if you take satrupa it can be 7 faces and based on yesterday dialogue CVs have taken 7 faces or sath and not shata

Once again a fitting analysis Shruthi. 👏
I agree with you on the patriarchy part. Satrupa is a smart woman. She could have easily chosen to keep her girl child but she chose the boy. She must have known even then that to inherit Royal Steel a boy had better chances than a girl. Satrupa never had complete control of Royal Steel , now did she. She was under Vikramadhitya. She is also married into the house , so he very well knows that she won't easily walk away from there. Patriarchal thought in full action.
The same holds true for a male heir according to patriarchy. The son will remain with you while the daughter won't.
The basic lesson the Anami should chisel into her brain is do not trust anyone in Lal Mahal. None in that place are worthy of trust.
Do continue analysing.

@umlbrahim yes that is the main factor, Satrupa was bahu of family not beti. So obviously she will remain with the limits of maryada of her marital home. And so true Anami should trust none in that place, each has their back history and motives.

Beautiful writeup 👏

Most of us know these six virtues of a good wife/woman as written in some olden scriptures.

"Karyeshu Dasi, Karaneshu Manthri; Bhojeshu Mata, Shayaneshu Rambha, Roopeshu lakshmi, Kshamayeshu Dharitri, Shat dharmayukta, Kuladharma Pathni "

Satrupa - the woman with 7 faces. Its the seventh face when a woman takes that will create a whirlpool in the system.

None of these scriptures suggest the seventh face. The face of power, the face to rule with shaam, daam dand bhed, the face that allows her to see beyond all those 6 virtues and act bravely. Until the time that face worked in his favor Vikramsingh was ok and would trust her blindly. The moment that face went against the decision it was just that a face and she at that moment became a woman with seven face.

This shows that despite trusting her and her decisions maharaja still wants a heir who is male. He cannot give the reign to a woman. Regardless that woman is his blood or not. This was the fact Satrupa knew it back then and it was the only reason why she chose to give away a girl child and not the first born.

Rajmata or Anju Mahendru was clearly not in favour of giving power to Satrupa. Her instigating maharaj is the proof. She did not like the fact that the power has been taken away from her son and is handed to her daughter in law.

Its a unique concept to see that a daughter in law has so much power and that power has been questioned by all just because she brought in the girl as a heir.

It would be an interesting discussion to see what would have happened if instead of Anami Vatsalya was given away? Would the family react the same way as they are reacting at the return of Anami?

Looks like the ego of the men of the house is too high to see the truth. Would they not want to prove Satrupa wrong when she clearly have asked them to prove her wrong?

Its a vyuh with 7 layer (Chakravyuh) with each layer being more dangerous than other.

One of the best shows on Indian tv so far with a tight script, class of actors and most important the questions that arises after watching each episode. Something to look forward. 👏

@bhavi u bought a beautiful point. Actually these days through discussion and personal blogs I am questioning that aspect.why a woman has to see the world through a man eyes.why she has to be trapped in roles as u explained in that verse. Why it is a problem if a woman sees the world through her eyes and try to build a world where both men and woman can co exist. Yes the moment a woman assert herself apart from role it create whirlpool. Classic example panchali who asserted her right as a woman as a queen and questioned the dharma that allowed to disrobe her publicly.
