Vijaya chill!
When I am saying "he should feel ashamed" is my POV in Ratan's position. See, the thing is Arulya wrote the story, you read that and I also read that. You are thinking that Ratan should not feel ashamed of his marriage but I am thinking that Ratan should feel ashamed.
I know saying that "Ratan feeling ashamed of his marriage" seems harsh to listen but thats what I would had felt if I were in Ratan's position. It is not necessary that the Arulya's fictional Ratan would think like that. Her ratan can be different. If I had wrote the same story I would have shown "ashamed Ratan" instead of "sensible Ratan". Here you can say "Nancy your thinking is very wrong". yes, I know this type of thinking can seem wrong to you, but what to do, I am that kind of weird person 😃.
Again Ratan's backstory actually plays a big role here, His friends doesn't know it ,thats why they are mocking at him. Still in this age when friends or even a stranger or your enemy mocks at you , you do feel ashamed even if there is no valid reason to feel. Vijaya I am not "that" level strong enough that someone would mock at me and I would say "it doesn't matter ", at the end of the day it matters to all 20's people ( on an average). They want to show off that "I am cool". I have also seen many people at these age whom actually "doesn't gives a s*** to anyone" and sticks to their own thinking, they are actually very matured than their age.
