As long as DiRa are together, no problem can be so big.
And this will increase KM's dislike towards diya, as ratan will support her in this. And ofcourse the underdog track will be ratan realizing diya's importance & his love.

The underdog track will be slightly different it will be about Ratan realising he is right for Diya. The guy knows diya's imp more than anyone else. In choosing her happiness he is very aware that it will mean hurt pain n falls for him. But more on that later.

I feel that mithi will bring some new theories into ratan's mind that will make him think about his own love theories. And might be possible that his love will overshadow his own thought one day.
Because realizing he is not right for her can be easily defied by some other person lecturing him or giving examples of his own Kesar Mahal's couples (KM-CT & Sakshi Mohak)
But love thing will play major part in him letting himself loose.
