Here I am with another chapter
I haven't proof read it so please ignore any mistakes
A while after Abhay's departure, Ratan entered the room with ointment and crepe bandage for Diya's leg. He had left her alone for sometime giving her time for herself. But when he entered the room he found Diya with a company file in her hand, apparently studying some aspects about a client for a meeting the next day.
'Mr. India, what the hell is this?', Ratan asked faking anger. Aapko aaram karna chahiye aur aap hai ki ye file liye baithi hai?', he said and snatched the file from her hand.
'Daata hukum.. bas do minute... us client ke company profile ke bare me padh rahe hai...file dijiye na...', Diya said trying to reach for the file as Ratan waved the file in front of her.
'Nahi, kuch do minute nahi Diya', Ratan said and kept the file away from her. 'Aap abhi chupchap yaha baithengi, aur mujhe aapke pair par ointment and bandage lagane dengi jaisa Doctor ne mujhe kaha hai', he said and sat in front of her near her left leg. She made a face and looked away from him. Ratan smiled at how cute she looked when she sulked.
Ratan took the ointment on his fingers and forwarded his hand for her foot when suddenly she held his hand and stopped him.
'Daata hukum, ye kya kar rahe hai? Iski jarurat nahi hai..', Diya said a bit awkward about him touching her foot.
'Ohh come on Diya! Hum best friends hai, humare bich ye formality kaha se aa gayi?', Ratan said.
'Nahi daata hukum hum kar lenge... Aap kyu..', Diya tried to say but Ratan interrupted.
'Mr. India.. agar humare indian sanskaron ke point of view se bhi dekha jaye, to aap mujhse badi hai, isliye agar main aapke pair chhu bhi lo to koi problem nahi hai.. right!', Ratan said smiling at her. She smiled in response. 'To ab aap shanti se baithiye aur mujhe ye ointment lagane dijiye', Ratan said. She nodded at him and left his hand.
Ratan forwarded his hand towards her sprained left foot and started to apply the ointment gently. As soon as his fingers touched her foot, Diya felt a shiver run down her spine. Her body seemed to have come alive and she felt a sensitivity that she had not felt in years. Ratan seemed to notice her tremor because he stopped for a moment. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable so he started to talk.
'Vaise Mr. India, aapko nahi lagta ki aap thodi moti ho gayi hai?', Ratan teased her. She looked at him with a jaw- dropping expression and Ratan knew his job was done. Mission accomplished he thought with a mischievous smile.
'Moti?? Aur hum?', Diya asked unbelievably and Ratan took advantage of her distraction to continue applying ointment on her sprained ankle and massage it gently. 'Aap kehna kya chahte hai daata hukum??', she asked.
'Haan dekhiye na... aapka ye pair swell ho gaya hai, par pata bhi nahi chal raha ki swell hua hai', Ratan said teasing her and continued the gentle massage of her ankle. 'Dekhiye na, aapko koi difference lag raha hai kya aapke right aur left pair me?', he asked.
'Haan daata hukum, hume difference dikh raha hai', she replied and grabbing the pillow beside her started hitting Ratan with it.
'Ouch... aahh...', he cried as she continued hittim him.
'Hum mote lagte hai aapko?', she complained childishly.
'Ow... Oww.. okay okay main mazak kar raha tha Mr. India... aap bilkul bhi moti nahi hai', he said and she stopped hitting him with the pillow. He now took the bandage in his hand. In fact aap to bohot beautiful hai', Ratan said sincerely looking at her. Diya looked up at him and their eyes locked. Ratan started rolling the crepe bandage around her ankle.
'Ho gaya', Ratan said after a few moments and broke the eyelock. Diya looked down at her ankle which was now completely bandaged and Ratan was clipping the hook in it. 'Bandh gaya aapka bandage... ab kaisa lag raha hai?' he asked her.
'Better', she replied dazedly, still pondering over the fact that he did everything without letting her feel awkward or intimidated. He actually did everything understanding her comfort zone.
'Pair dukh to nahi raha na?' he asked sincerely and she shook her head.
'Thanks daata hukum', she said gratefully.
'Mr. India dosti me no sorry, no thank you', he said smiling at her and she smiled back.
'Diya baai sa, Daata hukum', just then a voice called to both of them from the door of the room. 'Hum andar aa sakte hai?'
'Sakshi baai sa, aaiye na', Ratan said with a smile.
'Kaisi hai ab aap Diya baai sa?', Sakshi asked smiling kindly at her.
'Hum thik hai', Diya replied with a smile. Diya had always liked Sakshi. Though everybody in the Kesar Mahal had always been on the doubt radar of Diya, she never felt that Sakshi could do any plotting. She is too innocent and childish to have done that.
'Wo ma sa ne humse kaha ki aaj aapko aaram ki jarurat hogi, isliye hun aapka aur daata hukum ka khana yahi le aaye', Sakshi said. 'Jhumki', she called Jhumki who brought a tray with two plates of dinner on it.
Thank you Sakshi baai sa', Diya said with a smile.
'You're welcome', she replied with an enthusiastic smile. 'Ab hum chalte hai. Daata hukum, aap inhe acche se khana khila dijiye', she said teasingly to Ratan. He smiled back at her and she left.
And as Sakshi said Ratan made sure that Diya ate well as they had their dinner together. After dinner Ratan gave Diya her medicines and then made her lie down. He sat beside her talking on random topics till she fell asleep. He then pulled the comforter over her carefully and left the room. As she was sleeping on his bed he was gonna sleep in the balcony garden on her bed. Ratan lied down on the bed and went on ride name Diya thoughts. He knew she might be upset about what she had to do with Abhay, and he wanted to take care of her. He wanted to lessen her stress, wanted to make her feel special. Suddenly an idea struck him and his face lit up with a smile. He set the alarm for 5 AM in the morning as he knew Mr. India generally wakes up at 6.30 or sooner, and if he wanted to make his idea successful, he will have to get up before her. With a determination in his mind Ratan closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Next morning at 5 AM, Ratan's mobile vibrated with the alarm and he got up immediately. Taking care that he doesn't disturb Diya's sleep, he quickly got freshened up and noiselessly left the room. He entered the kitchen with a determination in his mind. He wanted to make a healthy breakfast for his Mr. India. When he was in London at the hostel, he used to make noodles, pasta, omelettes etc. But he knew that making an Indian breakfast was gonna be real challenge and he didn't have much time. So, for a couple of minutes he pondered over what to make and finally decided on oats upma, hot haldi and kesar milk with some crispy and spicy bikaneri bhujia to taste. He opened YouTube on his phone and quickly searched for the recipe of oats upma. As the first step he put a kadhai on the cooktop. Just then Jhumki and Chamki entered the kitchen and became shocked to see Ratan there.
'Daata hukum aap? Aap itni subah kitchen me kya kar rahe hai?', Jhumki asked surprised.
'Breakfast bana raha hu', he replied cheerfully.
'Par aap nashta kyu bana rahe hai? Hum hai na iske liye' Chamki said to him.
'Haan daata hukum, aap.. aap hume bataiye na aapko kya khana hai hum bana denge... aap kyu..?', Jhumki said but Ratan didn't let her finish.
'Shhh... Khamosh khadi rahiye', he ordered both of them. 'Breakfast main hi banaunga, aap dono bas mujhe jo jo chahiye wo dete jaiye okay', he ordered them and they nodded. Ratan smiled at them. 'Good. To phir Jhumki jara oats nikal kar dena', Ratan said and started to watch the recipe video.
About three quarters of an hour later, Ratan had successfully prepared oats upma and the kesar haldi milk on his own. He tasted the upma and was happy to know that it tasted good. He then served the upma hot in a bowl which he put in a tray, with a glass of milk, another bowl of Bikaneri bhujia and some freshly cut apples and strawberries. He held the tray in his hands and smiled with satisfaction at his work.
Here in the bedroom, Diya woke up with a start because of a bad dream. After a couple of minutes of heavy breathing and adjusting eyes with the light, she realized that she was in Ratan's bed. With that realization, she looked around for any sign of him. She got up from the bed and walked slowly towards the balcony garden to look for him. But she didn't find him there. Now she got a bit restless.
'Daata hukum', she called out hoping that he would answer. But he didn't, so came back inside the room and went to check the bathroom. 'Daata hukum kaha hai aap?', she asked again.
She opened the bathroom door, but it was empty. Now she felt really worried. She suspected if he went out without telling her again. Phir se daata hukum hume bataye bina bahar to nahi chale gaye? She thought.
'Daata hukum', she called out again.
'Good Morning Mr. India', Ratan replied entering the room with the tray of breakfast.
