Sunny quickly called up Trisha. "Oye, kya kaam hai Sunny tujhe mujhse... Mere bulletin ka time hone ko hai aur tu hai ki phone pe hase jaa raha hai. Itni khush hone waali kya baat ho gayi?? Baby ne shaadi ke liye haan kar di kya??... Ab bolega bhi ya main phone kaatun?" Trisha spoke.

"Oye tu mujhe bolne ka mauka de tab toh main kuchh bolu naa. Jabse phone kiya hai tabse bak bak kiye jaa rahi hai. Apne tape recorder ko thoda pause kar mujhse pooch ki agle hafte se humaare office main kaun aa raha hai??" Sunny teased her. "Kaun aa raha hai?? OH... Shah Rukh?!?!??! Sunny sach main?! Pehle kyun"" "Oye nahi oye!! Dimaag ke ghodon ko aaram de aur sun meri baat." By this time, Ronnie and Baby had also joined Trisha seeing that she was talking to Sunny.

"Agle hafte se humaare office main aa rahin hai... or should I say, VAAPIS aa rahi hain... KKN ki jaan aur hum sabki sabse achhi dost... ANANYA KASHYAP!! Haan yaar, use hospital waale agle Friday ko discharge kar rahe hain... and she will be fit and fine to join KKN from Monday!!!" Sunny squealed.

He got the same reaction from his friends on the other side. "Sunny, Ananya ko zara phone de... humein baat karni hai use. Agar so gayi ho toh bhi use utha aur humse baat karwa!" Ronie said.

"Arrey itni jaldi thodi so jaaegi voh??? Abhi toh Maate mere Potential Pitaji ki baahon main khil khilakar has rahi hai!! Aur yeh dekh kar I can't disturb her. She is in the world's best place abhi...!!' Sunny looked at them sideways and realizing that Ananya was oblivious to the world at the moment, and so was Kabir, he grinned and turned his attention back to his call.

"What?!?!? Pitaji?? World's Best Place??? Baahon main?? Sunny, can you enlighten us by explaining whatever you said just now?" Baby asked.

Sunny narrated the entire incident in a hushed excitement in his voice from the time Kabir burst into the room till the time he saw both of them lost in each other, unaware of it themselves. Baby and Trisha let out excited squeals while Ronnie had the naughtiest smile on his face. They ended their call as Sunny had to come back to KKN with the footage for it to be aired. Ronnie ran up to Khalid's cabin and broke the news. He even included the last part which made Khalid smirk. "I knew it would happen... but so soon? Well, that's Kabir and Ananya for you" he thought to himself and gave a knowing smile to Ronnie who reciprocated it, knowing the reason behind that expression.

The news spread in KKN like forest fire and everyone was happy that their boss would return to their office soon. They were fed up with the way their Co-Editor, Manav was handling the channel. TRPs were on an all-time low, and all they ever showed on their channel was murder, kidnapping, rape, scams and fake spiritual people taking advantage of the common man. There was zero optimism in their news. All this was there forever but the way Ananya handled a news, topping it with a ray of hope where required, and she always showed positive stories and ended their day on a happy note. Apart from a chosen few, nobody knew where Ananya had actually been these days. For that matter, even Manav didn't know where she was.

In the hospital"

Ananya found her ward so boring that she had practically forced Kabir to take her into his cabin. Hence, Kabir and Ananya were in Kabir's cabin today, having a steamy cup of coffee, enjoying the rain from the large window. "I wanted to ask something, Anu... uh... I mean Ananya. Since"" Kabir began but was cut off by her. "It's okay Kabir... you can call me Anu. Arrey, ab toh haq hai tumhaara! We are best friends and I think we deserve to call each other by some name." she said, sliding her hand in his. Kabir held it tightly and continued, "Okay, so Anu, since you are gonna be out of the hospital the next Friday, I was thinking about... How we... " he couldn't put his thoughts into words. He trailed off, hoping Ananya would understand; and she did. "I know Kabir, this is doing the rounds of my mind for the past few days. We both have very busy lives but I am sure, we will find time for each other even when I am not in the hospital. We can meet on weekends, or have lunch together sometimes. You have done so much for me so selflessly, I will never be able to repay it. But one thing I am sure of; I will never let anything happen to our friendship. These three months have been the best ones in my life; I have found a perfect BFF anyone could ever ask for. It doesn't matter where we are, what we do, or how far away we are from each other. All that matters is that this friendship is to last forever, and it will. I am sure I can fish some time out of my schedule to spend some time with you. Mujhse itni jaldi chhutkara nahi milega aapko Mr. Sharma!Dosti ki hai... poori nibhaungi" She gave a reassuring smile to him. "Thank you for being my friend. I am the luckiest" he said. "I am luckier" she said.

"Okay, enough of the emotions pouring out... lets lighten the mood up. Do you have some music??" She got up and looked around the cabin. She noticed a music system and a rack full of CDs beside it. She surfed through the shelf and took out a CD. "The Top Love Songs Of Hollywood" She read the name out aloud as she put it in the system and pressed PLAY'.

The soft music of A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri filled the room. The pitter-patter of the rain drops made the ambience even more romantic. Ananya sighed and tapped her feet to the beats. "My all-time favourite" she sighed.

The day we met,

He stood up and walked to Ananya. She didn't notice it. He slowly turned her around.

"May I have the pleasure of dancing with the Queen?" he asked. "Since when did the Princess become a queen?" she asked naughtily and giggled, placing her palm into his outstretched one. "Since the day, Kabir became a Best Friend Forever of Her Highness" he winked.

He smiled and pulled her closer to himself. She was blushing like crazy but was feeling so heavenly in his arms that she just swayed with the beats along with him.

"Is it okay for a patient to dance with her doctor?" she teased him. "No it isn't; but it is okay for the Queen to dance with her Kin... I mean friend" he said calmly and continued to dance, hoping that she had missed what he had tried to say. But she was a journalist and a very good one too! So she blushed inwardly yet again by what he had meant earlier.

She turned and looked at him. She remembered that this man dancing with her was the person because of whom she is alive. Be it his treatment or the exceptional care and respect, she had come a long way with his help. Ananya silently thanked her stars to give her such a lovely angel in disguise.

Kabir put his hands on her waist and she locked her arms around his neck. They both shared an eye lock which was more intense than the previous playful ones. "You dance quite well yourself, Kabir" she said as the song ended. "You are no less Anu" he said in a husky tone, which made her blush all the more.

"Thank you... now will you do me a favour Mr. Knight?" she said in an aristocratic voice. "At your service, Your Highness" he said. "Please allow me to sleep on that plush and inviting couch in your cabin. It looks so cozy!! The hospital beds have given me a sore back... Pretty please! You yourself said that there is no point arguing with me. So..." she said in an innocent tone and looked at him with hopeful eyes.

He sighed and said, "As you wish ma'am. Let me pull this couch. It's a sofa-cum-bed. Since I may need to spend the nights here, I have this. Make yourself comfortable on that couch while I go and get your medicines." He pointed to the black couch.

That night, even though they slept together in a room, like always, things were different. For starters, they were sleeping together. But this time, both of them had a tough time going into sleep. And after that dance, they had felt sparks fly. Both of them had felt the long awaited "something". But they were yet to realize that this feeling was called love. But then, something is always better than nothing!
