Malika going by the spoilers its most likely the first one...but I would like to believe that after he met Anu...he is secretly working towards it...would like it to go this way

I would like to believe the 2nd option. If this happens to be a well planned move by the CVs, which I think it is, bcoz the writer had been talking about a big jolt since a month now and also the Sudhir Kashyap case seemed half baked , then Kabir has definitely been following the case silently, at least after knowing SK's connection with Ananya. Also he kept that article with him.
