PART 16:
"Ek kaam karte hain peeche ke raaste se chalte hain" suggests Kabeer."Peeche ka rasta?" asks Ananya, astonished!Looking at her in utter surprise, Kabeer says "Kamal hain aap Miss Kashyap, aap yahan aayi hain aur aane se pehle aapne koi tayari nahi ki? How can you be so careless?" scolds Kabeer. Ananya lowers her eyes, accepting her fault. She really behaved immaturely. "Maine ye pehle kabhi nahi kia" she says, her eyes still lowered. Kabeer closes his eyes and shakes his head, imagining what could have happened if he were not here. Then again showing her determination to solve this case, she says "Aur kisi ne koshish bhi nahi ki mujhe samjhane ki" meeting his eyes. "Oh haan koshish karenge bhi kaise, dantne se aur apne junior par bharosa na karne se fursat mile to kuch samjhayenge na" saying this she tries to make it clear that if anyone is to be blamed, it's him not her."Bharosa agar nahi karta to aap iss waqt yahan nahi hoti" he shouts at her.
Hearing his voice a person from the gang reaches them. "Sir" Ananya holds his arm nervously. "Agar apni jaan pyari hai to chup chap mere peeche chalo" warns the man to them, at gun point. As they accept to listen to him, the sound of a crying child catches their attention."Ye, ye kon ro raha hai?" asks Ananya to the man, scared. The man smiles and says "zarur kisi ne koi galti ki hogi. Chalo ab tum dono mere peeche" saying this the man moves forth to hold Ananya but Kabeer standing in front of her guards her. He stops him showing his index finger. "Maine kuch nahi kiya" the crying of a boy child drags their attention. Ananya gets scared and holds Kabeer tightly but Kabeer shows his presence of mind and strength, and remains calm. They follow him.
While following Kabeer whispers to Ananya, who is still holding him "Kya hua Miss Kashyap? Tumhe to meri zarurat nahi thi na! Ek kaam karta hoon, main chalta hoon" saying this he acts to turn back. Still scared and not in a mood to enjoy any joke even if it is from her Kabeer she drags him towards her and says "chup chap mere paas rahiye", her eyes glued on the man walking ahead of them. "Paas hi to hun, tum kaho to aur paas..." Ananya looks into his eyes, who is observing her reaction intently. "Aapko kisi se darr nahi lagta na?" she asks her, half mad at him, half loving his presence. "Lagta hai na" replies Kabeer earnestly."Kisse?" she asks, continuing her walk. "Tumhari aankhon se"! His reply makes her to feel shy. Then again showing her boldness she says "acha pehle to apko sirf meri baatein galat lagti thi ab meri ankhein bhi galat hai?" "Maine aisa kab kaha?" he asks her, creasing his eyebrow."Waise bhi galti apki hai!" she complains. "Meri?" he asks, confused. "Ya main ye kahun apke gusse ki" she adds further. He gives her a puzzled look. Knowing the look too well she answers his unasked question "Agar aap mujh pe gussa hokar, mujh par chillate nahi to ye sub nahi hota. Par apko kon samjhaye. Apko kya farak padhta hai?"
