Disclaimer: I didn't hate the episode, it wasn't one of the best, neither it was bad. It was an interesting watch and the story is actually moving pretty fast.
But the episode brought this question to my mind... Do these two (who else, our dumb hero and heroine ;) ) deserve each other? They are inflicting so much pain on each other, yes love could be painful, especially during the initial states, but this much of pain? . And there is so much of contrast between them.. One is so battle hardened, but with a wounded heart, which doesn't seem to have any hope of healing, another a beautiful butterfly, who is at the cusp of her first romantic feelings, and who can't see the world in anything but black & white, there is no grey exists for her...
Perhaps she deserves some cute boy who shares the same jest for life, who is uncomplicated, doesn't have an emotional baggage, and who doesn't talk in riddles. And he probably doesn't need a woman at all, his old wounds are still existing, but atleast he is used to that pain, why to get involved which would invariably give some new wounds.. But the fate, that has brought them together, that has to be blamed for binging love into the lives of such odd pair, and along with love, so much of pain...
Ananya is pained , she is suffering a lot, she is cornered from all sides,. But did Kabir cause this pain? Yes, indeed he is indirectly reasonable, her feelings for him, the confusions caused by his behaviour, the lack of clarity about his personal life, all added to her misery... But directly? Did he encourage her to fall in love with him? Did he take her out on a date? Did he talk of future with her? Did he indicate to her they are an item? No, no, no, no, answer to all the questions is no, yes, he mildly flirted with her, he had shown concern for her, he carried her in his arms and he accepted her friendship, oh, let's not forget, he broke her hope... So, all these amounts to him being responsible for all the miseries in her life,?. I have been talking about Ananya's immaturity, it came out so plainly today,. Does her feelings give her right to demand his reciprocal. Certainly not, and how can she claim to love a man whom she doesn't have any trust on... Yes, he has a questionable relationship with Tarini, no one knows the nature of the relationship, and Kabir Sharma doesn't care enough to give explanations to anybody. But how do we conclude him as a user and spoiler of junior reporters, how many such junior reporters whose life is spoilt by Kabir Sharma is known to all these 'friends' of Ananya? Can they give a list? If the list has only one name and if the name is Tarini, it can't be a list, right? Moreover Tarini is very much a part of his life, in whatever capacity, he has not thrown her yet, so how does he become a use & throw guy?
Yes, I have been telling that Ananya is too vulnerable and moreover with all these new feelings, she can't be expected to be rational. But her immaturity and insecurity are reaching to new heights. Every person in love (or imagining to be in love) expects their feeling to be returned. There are no exception to this phenomenon, but if the feelings are not reciprocated, does it give them right to blame the person? My sympathy with Ananya started evaporating when she mentioned Tarini in her ranting, assuming that Kabir in a relationship with Tarini. Fine, she assumes Kabir-Tarini are a couple, but who is she to complain & crib about it? She rejected Ronnie because she has feelings for Kabir, doesn't Kabir have the same right? The right to have & share those feelings with someone else? Can Ronnie blame you for his misery, he only could blame himself for falling for a woman who doesn't reciprocate, the same rule applies to you too dear... And if Ronnie is not accepting this reality and acting bratty, there is some justification in it, he is a victim, but you are? You are not just a victim (with Kabir), but also an offender (with Ronnie), you should be able to relate better how it feels to be at the other side..
I do still feel sorry for Ananya, but not with respect to Kabir, for her collapsing support system, for her immatured feelings and for her insecure heart.
And let's not forget we got a sort of confession today.. Ananya did openly acknowledge that she is in love.
Kabir on the other hand, He is already wounded, and now more wounds for him. I am not going to even talk abut whether it is love which he feels or not. But this is the woman with whom he let down his guards, the woman with whom he tentatively formed some personal ties, the woman for whom he wants to be a supporting shoulder and the woman who made him behave unprofessionally by her pain, and hearing such painful words from that woman... Yes, Ananya didn't mean for him to hear the words and even he knows that. But the sentiments behind the words? That hurt more than the words... This woman who makes him feel alive again is no different than others, through he shared some part of his vulnerable self with her, she choose to believe the worst about him. What can be worse than this? And his reaction to her words, how else he can react? He only has his pride left, let him have that atleast, if Ananya only believes the words, let her have the words and be satisfied, and if she can look beyond the words, there's a dearth of secrets and pain in those eyes, but she isn't mature enough to read them and embrace them.
Does Ananya deserve this pain? No, certainly not... But if she does want a future with Kabir Sharma, she has to grow up and be a matured person who doesn't dilly dally with every comment from everybody, and this pain is the fire that will mould her into that kind of person. Does Kabir deserve this pain? NOOO, and I don't have any explanation why he is going thorough this, only a hope that his pain will be compensated when he gets the matured version of Ananya in his life.
Kabir - Malvika scene, we all know what a cheapo she is, and she lived upto that image. Kabir was the Mr, confident Editor-In-Cheif, except for the moment of hesitation when he picked up the gasses, and drinking wine was both his penance and reward for losing his heart to an immature girl. Kabir was cool as cucumber, not showing any personal feelings or emotions, the suave mask is firmly on.
Did Kabir spend his night with Malvika? Ofcourse I wasn't there with them to know for sure ;), but my gut feeling says he didn't, not because I think it was wrong of him to do that, but because
1) he didn't even let her kiss him.
2) if they did spend the night together, Malvika's bragging would have been direct in the precap, she would have marched into Ananya's cubicle and announced it gleefully.
3) Kabir is not the kind of person who repeats his mistakes, he made one unprofessional slip, he won't do another, starting an affair with Malvika would be nothing but a professional misstep for him.
The Ananya - Richa scene, Richa is one the most insensitive character, she was totally callous. And Ananya, she has no idea about the extent of hurt she inflicted on Kabir..
Ronnie, I don't expect anything better from him at this moment, his pain is too raw, he needs time to regroup.
Precap.. My bet is Kabir is not taking revenge on Ananya, he is just conceding to her wish of sending her away, such is his care for her well being, there is no denying that he understood that she has some feelings for him. Why else she will rant about him, but he feels, her emotions are only harming her and it is better to wipe them off, and he is doing what he thinks is necessary. A tiny part of me is also wondering whether he is goading her to confess, but this is too doubtful,
When will this MU get resolved.. Very soon in my expectation.. As I said in another post, things cannot go on like this, Ananya cannot handle this, she will snap. Or will resign, but I think resignation will not ease her burning need for answers, she will anyway confront Kabir. But will they confess and enter into a relationship after the confrontation? I doubt... After what he heard from her mouth, Kabir would be very weary of her nature, and the strength of her feelings. He certainly won't believe that her feeling are deep enough or strong enough to share a life with him, his line of thinking would be 'if she does geipniunely love me, why she has such a low opinion of me?'. Can we blame him of he thinks so? . Ananya's job will be cut out then, how to make Kabir Sharma fall hopelessly in love and forget any objections he has... :)
