He hasn't gotten the report yet, he sorta just jumped in on the interviewing Bhavna plan. Its mostly due to his own instincts also agreeing with Ananya's theory and the blood stain as proof.

But if you notice, His plan to interview Bhavna can go either way- Reveal her true face to the nation or let her simply give her statement in more detail.
Either way its not going to harm their ratings.

Kabir trusts Ananya's instincts but he is also smart enough to keep an escape route if they are both wrong.
